“Perfect Hotel, Location and Value for Money. Relaxing and close to the action”
Reviewed 9 April 2012

Me and the missus (were 28 and 24) stayed at the Iberotel Lido Hotel Naama bay in November 2011. It was the perfect location we were lit literally on the beach and a 3 min walk to the top of the Naama bay strip. The missus loves a drink so being close to all the bars was great!
If we had one criticism it would be our room was facing all the restaurants bars and clubs which was a little noisy at times but didn’t compromise us getting to sleep, if you want to be close to the town this is to be expected. The hotel itself was excellent value for money, we would highly recommend this hotel.

The room itself was perfect, spacious and cleaned thoroughly everyday which was great after I had been in the toilet the morning after a heavy night out! Lol Our room was on the top floor it overlooked the whole of Naama bay which was stunning day and night! We also walked out of our door onto the rooftop swimming pool area. The towel man is very helpful and friendly as is all of the staff at this hotel.

There were plenty activities to choose from we went Stargazing, Quad biking, doughnuts and Camel riding (my ears were ringing from my missus screaming in my ear whilst she was on the camel! But we both had great fun)

We did buy some of the excursions from a guy on the beach, he was a little cheaper than the holiday reps!

Eat at Dananeer restaurant as the food is amazing and cheap!
Camel bar is good for drinks and karaoke on Thursdays!

Overall great holiday, weather was perfect, hot enough to get a great tan in the day. Tip: take a jumper for the evening as it can get a bit nippy late.

Happy Holidays

:-)

Room Tip: If you want to be near the pool request a top floor room

This is the best beach hotel we have been to in Egypt. It is small and personal and a lot of thought has clearly gone into designing the rooms and the public areas of the hotel. The top deck bar is really spectacular. We stayed on the All Inclusive package and the food and drink options were very good. We ate dinner on the Deck Restaurant twice - included in the price - and this was great. They light up the sea and the 50 or so lion fish just seem to hover under the spot lamps!

The staff were great, without exception.

There is one down side, which others have mentioned in their reviews, and that is the loud music from the discos across the bay. I have to say that this was unacceptable - very loud and very late. I am surprised that this hotel and some of the other classy hotels have not been able to do anything about this.

Despite this, it is still a fantastic place to relax by the Red Sea. The beach is nicely sheltered from the breeze by the hotel itself. The small reef just off the hotel beach was great and we saw over 50 different types of very beautiful fish just by swimming off the beach.

Room Tip: Get a room facing out to sea - its quieter in the evening and cooler in the afternoon.

Just returned on the 29th March from a 10 day stay at the Lido.
The hotel was lovely, not big or flashy, just really good and the staff were all excellent and couldn't do enough to make our stay a happy one. We were in room 225 and loved watching from our 'wee' balcony as the dive boats loaded up each morning. The pool area on the roof was perfect for us as it had a breeze which kept us from getting too hot. Anwar from the pool bar and Machram the pool attendant couldn't have done more for us each day, two lovely gentlemen! Also Abd Allah kept our room SPOTLESS!!
We went B&B and had 'Light Lunches' at the pool most days and meals in the town in the evenings. One of our favourites was The Mexican - on the left as you enter the town beisde The Buddah. Also worth a visit is the Tandoori restaurant within the Camel Hotel (beside the Pacha Night Club).
Unfortunately the Pacha kept us awake most nights with awful noise (I think they called it music!) unitl 2.30.
We didn't like the constant 'hassle' from the shopkeepers and if only they would have left us to wander, I'm sure we would have bought more! I know it's in their culture to do this but it is really off-putting!
Overall we had a lovely holiday at the Lido.

Just returned on 29th March 2012. The staff are incredible and cannot do enough for you and the hotel overall is of a very high quality. We only stayed B&B but the breakfast was so good you hardly needed any more to eat before going into the nearby Namma Bay for a meal at one of the many restaurants. The hotel sits on a small headland overlooking the actual town which regrettably is crammed with shops and stalls selling tack. The stall people are extremely annoying with their constant " you come in to my shop" "no hasle, only haggle" "please let me ask you a question" each only wanting to engage you in conversation with the aim of getting you to buy something you seldom would want to buy. The Russians are generally extremely loud and annoying in that they will push a shove anyone out of their way that they feel are in their way. They have now overtaken the Germans in regard to sheer ignorance. The food in the several restaurants we visited in the week we were there was of a reasonable standard and always cooked fresh to order, unlike Britain where most seems to be microwaved. There is quite a wide range of foods available but not many who serve Egyptian food. Neither my wife or myself would wish to visit this resort during the summer, when the numbers of visitors is at its maximum combined with temperatures in the low 40's.
If you stay at the Lido my advise would be to e-mail them asking for a sea view looking away from the town as the music does go on until around 2am and the base carries. On the reverse side the sea view rooms face onto the landing stage for all the diving trip boats and can get quite noisey loading the air bottles etc. from around 7.30am until 10.30am when the last boat leaves. They then all return between 5pm and around 6.30 with a repeat of the general hubub. It can be quite interesting if you like to people watch. We would still recommend the sea view. Since the whole resort was bult for the tourists there is no History in the town though there are planty of the usual overpriced trips to the usual Egyptian sites.
The pool was quite cold despite the management saying it was heated. We suspect they mean by the sun and this was early in the season. The pool attendant and the pool barman were superb. They could not do enough for you and made our stay even more pleasant than we could have expected.
One small point of critisim if the management read this would be the chef making omlettes each morning looked as though he had worn the same trousers for the last year without washing them. This was the only member of staff who seldom smiled or looked in the least way grubby. Even the maintenance and grounds staff looked better presented.
Overall a great short break but I do not think we could have stayed for two weeks without going mad if we did not take some of the overpriced trips that were on offer.

Room Tip: Rooms looking out to sea are quieter and we would recommend around 224 or 224 would be the best.

Just got back from a wonderful week at the Iberotel Lido. I have stayed at nearly all of the large beach front hotels in Namma Bay and I can honestly say that this hotel provides the most personal and friendly service out of all the hotels. Each member of staff goes out of their way to get to know you and offer you excellent service. The food was far better than in the larger hotels in my experience and because the hotel is built on the sea, all the eating and drinking areas have spectacular views - you are never more than a few feet from the sea. The rooms are kept very clean and you have everything you need and good views from all rooms. The location means that you are only 5 minutes walk from the resort centre. I visit Naama Bay at least once a year and from now on will only be staying at the Lido.
