We tried to review this hotel but the Trip Advisor site did not recognise the name.

We booked our trip through Travel Republic and stayed 2 nights at the Empire Three Corners. The hotel is well situated in the old part of town, well away from the concrete sprawl of villas and building sites which line the coast for 30 km South of Hurghada.
Being in the old part of Hurghada means that you are in a far less touristy area well away from what is becoming a mega resort sprawl (a la costas) but with fantastic swimming and diving.

The hotel is large and efficient but we think lacks character. Our room was massive, having a double bed and 2 singles and still room to play football! Our fridge did not work on arrival but was fixed within 10 minutes - it broke down again, again 10 minutes to fix - broke down again and was replaced within 15 minutes. That is good service but should have been replaced before we arrived.

All rooms face inward to face the pool which is totally enclosed by the hotel building. As a result this pool area becomes a furnace during the day. However, the sister beach club some 200 metres away can be used free of charge by hotel guests. This has a small beach and 3 swimming pools and offers water sports, snorkelling and diving trips plus laid-on pool entertainment which can be most amusing ( a spectator sport in itself).

All in all, a good place to just chill out after the exertions of sight-seeing etc. and service adequate. Good value for money.

I really don't know what the people complaining about this hotel are complaining about. I was there last week (May 2009) and the hotel was great. The room was basic, but large with a huge balcony. The food at the buffet was excellent, and to the person saying you couldn't get lunch there, you're wrong, the lunch was served int eh Dolce Vita restraunt next to the pool.
Of course you could walk 100 yards to the sister hotel on the beach, and have a buffet if you liked.
Yes the drinks were served in small (1/4 pint) glasses, if you're drinking spirits its a normal size, and if you're drinking beer, just get 2 at a time.
As for the staff, they were very friendly, and at no time hassled any of us for tips (there were tip jars in the restaraunt and bar, and the cleaners did teh towel sculpures without wanting tipped for it.
I would recommend this hotel if you have been to Egypt before and know what to expect from an Arab country. If you want to go on holiday and expect English food, then I suggest you holiday in England.

Ok hotel for a low-budget holiday. Clean spacious rooms with a fridge, old furniture, spacious beds. Busy hotel with a lot of tourists from Russia. Staff nice but busy. Against tips good service. A short walk to a nice beach (Triton Beach). Triton Beach is to be preferred, nice location. Triton Empire is a bit off from the city (Sekkala) but there is a nice bazar area and downtown a short walk away. We took a taxi to Sekkala most of the nights. Food ok but pretty much same same.

Known as the Empire/Three Corners Hotel.
Several blocks of rooms surrounding a pool, reserve in advance for deals. Free access to three corners beach resort, a 200m walk away. (Private beach. heated pool (for the winter). 200m in opposite direction a brilliant bakery shop (with local's prices) Huge rooms, safe box, friendly staff, amazing breakfast. Huge selection, eat as much as you like choice, omelettes, crepes cooked on demand. For value, it would take a lot to beat.
