We were a party of 10. We were under separate bookings but on request asked to be located near each other. The hotel were very accommodating and placed us all in their newly completed rooms. I was on the second floor lots of stairs and no lift.
The rooms were large and decorated to a high spec. But lacked finishing touches such a chair at the dressing table area and handles so could open the draws and cupboard to the fridge!! Bathroom was big too with a shower the size of a single bed. The rooms were make up daily with clean towels, the only thing my lacked was being topping up of bottled water and teabags. Long way down if run out. There was no welcome pack or map so difficult to find out what was on and where everything was located.
The pool area was large and had plenty of lounger s and cabanas.in our hotel we had two pools one which had a wave machine( only on once a day at 3pm). The other had usual handle bar steps but I found the top step a fair distance from the pool edge making it difficult to get in and out(I an only 5ft). The pool had a lifeguard on duty all day and the pool staff were amazing and very attentive.
Sister hotel(aqua park) next door had large aqua park area, fun for all the family.
Hotel guest were mainly Egyptian and eastern European. So most meals were catered for their taste. Good to try different food. The restaurant for our hotel LeMarche was a buffet style, large variety of food at all meals. But some dishes could be served hotter(especially the BBQ food).
You can use the sister hotel restaurants but these are buffet style too. The hotel could do with a speciality restaurant
Where you are served.
Most evening we spent in the lobby bar upstairs on the balcony served by the very friendly and helpful Hamdy. Service was good and quick. Nothing was too much trouble.
We did use the bar in sister hotel found the staff to be rude and not that bothered about the guests needs.. when one of our party asked for a drink he was granted at and told to go to the bar.
Drink choice of spirits were all local brands not great tasting but the beer was ok.
Word of advice we brought our own spirits from duty free the shop under the hotel has no prices and they try to charge silly money for food and drink. Wanted to charge over ten pounds for two litres of coke and two cans of red bull........ supermarket is ten minutes by taxi and works out cheaper.
The hotel was clean and maintained well. Although there were ramps for prams and wheel chairs around the ground, main access to this area via reception was via two flights of stairs. Surfaces could sometimes be slippery When wet even around the pools.
Entertainment staff were friendly and always had time to talk and advice you on the days entertainment.
Beach was ten to fifteen minute walk across the road and through the Pickalbatros beach hotel, there is a curtesy bus which can get you there and back if you don't fancy the walk. At the beach you can book boat trips with pirates of the Red Sea.
