Stayed here for 3 nights when we stayed on the island and had the best experience. Every staff Member was extremely helpful and the breakfast was top notch. This was the only hotel on our trip that changed up the breakfast each morning and it was delicious each time. The rooms were spacious and had cute balconies where you could enjoy a drink. Walking distance to all the shops and restaurants. Would recommend to anyone traveling.

A lovely basic hotel, with a wonderful design around an open courtyard on the edge of town. Stayed here one night while on a Galapagos Adventure, it was handy for the town centre, although tucked away in a back street. Need to take a map to find your way back.

Stayed here 5 nights....nice hotel but amenities are SPARTAN . we were in Rooms #3 and #4. A nice size room for one person. You get one towel and one face towel. one small bottle of shampoo and one bottle of body soap. The bed is firm to hard and the pillows are thin and tiny. no refrigerator or microwave in room. The shower(plumbing) knobs are tricky to use so that your shower could extremely cold or extremely hot either way it woke you up . Sixty TV /cable channels only two in English,,, channel #75 NHK out of japan and channel #74 out of France ???The light in room was plain halogen bulb with no globe on it...the drapes in room thin didn't block any light so you're up at the crack of dawn..Breakfast is Ala carte "sort of" you get choice two eggs or a omelette ,toast or small pancakes, some fruit or couple grapes, coffee , juice ,,, no bacon,no sausage...no real variety pretty much same every morning... the hotel has 22 rooms but that maybe still to small for any type of a breakfast buffet.... Front desk sells cooled bottles of wine $30 USD and Club Beer for $6 USD and Pilsner Beer for $5 and Coke for $2 USD.There is filtered water in the court yard to refill the one bottle of water they give you daily .If you walk to the left as you leave the hotel towards town you will pass a liquor store which will save you more then half. The location is great and close to lots of great restaurants our favorite is in town where water taxis are and the grocery store is(about a ten minute walk from the hotel) called EL DESCANSO DEL GUIA. the people (EDWIN and MAILEE) at the front desk were very helpful with confirming tours, pick-ups, ,airline confirmations, directions ,restaurant recommendations ,etc..The room air conditioning worked well .I don't think you want rent the rooms on the top floors as the ocean view isn't that good and narrow TILE steps get slick or slippery after a rain...lastly don't buy any post cards it cost $3 dollars(postage) to mail one back to the USA...

Room tip: rooms on lower floors are safer fewer slippery tiles navigate over

This colorful tiled hotel has such a great vibe. The staff is wonderful, breakfasts are traditional and fresh. There's fresh coffee and hot water for tea 24 hrs. a day. Laid back in the central part of the town. A great location close to the fish market which is another story in itself.

We stayed here for three nights as part of an organized tour package of the Galapagos and we enjoyed having this hotel as our home base. This hotel is fairly basic and doesn't have all the bells and whistles that you would find at some other places in Puerto Ayora but we were very happy with our experience here.

The staff was super friendly throughout our stay. Most of the front desk staff spoke English and could communicate with us effectively. Check in and check out were simple. They also helped us set up everything we needed including calling us a taxi and providing recommendations. They do request leaving the (physical) room key at the front desk which is a little different than hotels in the US, but it's better than losing it while snorkeling.

The complex is nice with about 20 rooms in total. It's not your typical hotel building with floors of rooms. It's more eclectic with winding staircases and no elevators. Puerto Ayora is very safe overall, and the complex is also safe with staff always on site and front door that is locked at night. There is coffee and tea available 24/7 and there is (purified) water cooler available in the same area. This was perfect for refilling our water bottles before heading out for the day. The location is about a block of the main road and is in easy walking distance the main areas of Puerto Ayora.

The room was simple enough with a bed, couch, fridge, tv, and large bathroom. We also had a balcony with two chairs and table. The view was mostly blocked by a palm tree but it was still nice to go out and sit in the cool air after dinner. The bed and pillows were simple and suited our needs, but I could see some people wanting something with more comfort. The bathroom was clean and they provided standard cleaning products for the shower.

Breakfast was similar everyday. They served us a plate of fruit which varied and then they asked how we would like our eggs cooked. They they were serve us our eggs and warm toast with jam and butter. Eggs also included a grilled or fried piece of plantain with cheese on top. Drink options included coffee, tea, or juice. Breakfast started before 7 am so it was nice to get up and have a warm breakfast to start the day. Some more variety would have been nice, but this suited our needs for breakfast.

Overall, we liked this place a lot. It does not have all the decorations and additional amenities that you would find in other fancier hotels or the other or even of basic hotels in the US, but we came for the Galapagos, not for the hotel room, so we were find with the simple nature of the place and it really felt like home with how kind and welcoming the staff was. I would definitely stay here again.

Room tip: Only some rooms have balconies, so try to get one of these on the higher up levels so you can get a partial view of the water.
