We ended up at Angermeyer only after the Galapagos Habitat canceled our reservation and shipped us over there, but we feel confident that we benefited in the exchange.

We had the two-bedroom unit on the second/upper floor of the smaller/older building. It was a funky layout, but nevertheless much appreciated as we were traveling with our 9 year old and she felt like she was a grown-up with her own apartment for the week. The views from the balcony were terrific.

The restaurant is a real gem - both in the quality of the food and the enchanting setting. You'll enjoy the free show all the sea creatures offer on a nightly basis (try to get a table right on the edge by the sea - you'll need to ask for a reservation well ahead of time).

We were a little worried about having to get a water taxi to get to/from town - especially since we had tours booked at specific times and couldn't be late for anything - but it ended up being fine. Taxis are circulating constantly, are cheap, and you each little trip across the bay was kind of fun as it turned out. Nice, actually, to get away from the town for a little more serenity. The other nice thing about the location is that you can walk to some cool sights that folks staying in the town would have to watertaxi to.

Staff were all amazing. Slower service in the restaurant than we spoiled Americans are all used to, but good by Ecuador standards, and professional by anybody's standards. Front desk was 100% on point.

Dear Ryan,

Thank you so much for your review, it was such a pleasant read and we are extremely happy to hear that you enjoyed your stay. We certainly have many benefits, including our private dock that is not shared with the public entryway to reach the more secluded spots like Playa Aleman and Las Grietas!

All of us say thank you for choosing Angerymer Waterfront Inn! Take care!

After two days of travelling to get here, the Angermeyer is truly exquisite! The room is lovely and spacious with a balcony overlooking the ships in the bay.
The food so far has bern of exceptionally high standard. The white fish fir lunch yesterday was superb and the selection of food for breakfast, amongst the best I have ever had!

Great stay. Awesome locale. Very friendly staff. Rooms quaint, nice and incredible view. The water taxis went on strike one day and Angermeyer immediately accomodated with other hotel for water shuttle and able to get us into town for dinner. Their outside dining area overlooks Puerta Ayora harbor and close water taxi to docks (and fun too). Lot of wildlife surrounds docks as well. Would have sucked to have poor accomodations in Galapagos. Angermeyer exceeded expecations. Thank you.

My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon - and WOW! It is absolutely beautiful. Enio at the main office was so welcoming and accommodating, and all of the staff were so friendly and attentive! The restaurant is absolutely amazing - actually rated one of the best on the island. The view we woke up to every morning was absolutely stunning, and super cool it's only accessible by the water taxi (which runs 24 hrs so no worries there!) Definitely recommend staying here - we wish we could've stayed longer!!

Our family (2 adults plus kids ages 11 and 8) spent 5 nights at the Angermeyer. Through our tour agency (Ecoluxury Group), we booked two rooms that were connected by a balcony giving a setup more like a suite that was perfect for providing space and privacy. The hotel's website is a bit sparse in terms of information, but do not be concerned. We found the location beautiful, the rooms comfortable, and the staff super helpful and friendly. We built great relationships with several staff during our stay, and they were highly attentive in ensuring we had meals and transportation at the right times to enable connecting to our daily scheduled tours. We loved the hotel location. It's located about a 2 minute water taxi ride from the main port (80 US cents per person per ride). The location provides the beauty and serenity of being waterfront with a bit less activity and noise than the main port. Our kids also greatly enjoyed swimming in the waters right out front of the hotel in an area separated from the main boat traffic by a rope connected to the dock. The food was also excellent (great flavors, large portions), and my wife (who is gluten free) had plenty of good options. Our itinerary had us away from the hotel for most of the day (3 boat trips and one day shopping / touring sites in the main port) but the hotel was a perfect morning / evening base and a great spot for some afternoon fun in the water.

Room tip: Inquire about two rooms connected by a shared balcony if you are traveling with a larger family.
