This place was much less expensive than the other options so we took a shot at it and it paid off. The staff were friendly and upgraded us in an air conditioned dorm because there were two beds vacant. The bathroom was basic and clean. There is also wifi, computers, bar and restaurant which sell good homely meals, Location is good the beach is just a minutes walk away and the supermarket just a bit further. The travel agency inside was helpful, they can answer any questions about where you want to go.

Overall it's the perfect base to stay while you travel to, Lost City, Tayrona, Minca etc. They can even look after your bags while travelling to those places.

It's a very amazing and magic place... where you can enjoy life as simple as it real is... I loved the place, people, sounds, weather, visitors... Life at night, the wind on your face the music and view are incredible, you must live a life in there!

I stayed almost 4 weeks in Miramar, thats how comfortable I was there! Even though the hostel is basic, its clean and everything is in good working order. The stuff is very friendly and they gave me a very good price. Fast internet! The rooms can differ quite a bit in size, even though the prices are similar, so it might be worthwhile to ask for other options.

We stayed in this atmospheric hostel for 5 days. The hostel is simple, but it has all the basic requirements, working wi-fi, descent restaurant, cold beers and water. The staff is spanish speaking only (or not speaking at all - Tina is great) but friendly and happy. There is a good tour company in the hostel run by the helpfull Heiru.

The private room with AC and private bathroom, is small but clean - you only get a curtain to seperate the toilet from the room.

We were happy you were allowed to smoke anywhere in the hostel - but please remember to throw the cigarette butts in the ashtrays Tina made

All in all, don´t expect a five star hotel, but a cheap hostel, which is taken care of in a proper way

Not fancy, but a good cheap place to stay. I got an individual room for 20,000 pesos per night (about $10-12 US) with ceiling fan only and it was cool enough to sleep. They have rooms with AC if you want. The place a bit dingy-looking, but it's clean; they're out mopping and cleaning every day. They have wifi. If you don't have your own computer/phone, they have two ancient desktops available for guests to use for free, which work most of the time.

The in-house restaurant is good, although honestly not as good as some of the other local options. Convenient though.

Guias y Baquianos tours is based in the hostel. I did the Ciudad Perdida trek with them. It was well run. They even arranged for mules (for an extra charge) for the two girls who couldn't handle the hike back. Be warned about the trek: none of the agencies will tell you that it's a tough hike, especially considering the heat and humidity. If you're fit it's not a big deal, but marginally out-of-shape people will struggle, and seriously out-of-shape people won't make it.

Room Tip: Bring earplugs if you are getting a room w/o AC; noise from the main area comes right in and can last into the evening. (It's not really a party hostel, but sometimes people stay up and talk.)
