probably the best location in cartagena. staying there is like living in the 17th century, but with 5 stars quality. Original art, thick walls, a pool in the roof with an amazing view to the walls and the caribbean sea, what else?

Room Tip: Breakfast in the "patio republicano" is ten times better than in the roof with the pool...

The hotel has a great location in Cartagena inside the walled city and all within walking distance to clubs, nice cafes and restaurants with a very Spanish colonial feeling among the balconies in the stretched streets, filled with vendors and nice Colombian folklore. The rooms are very nice and spacious with a great big bathroom although the shower wasn’t so strong. The room service was very slow but the breakfast buffet was amazing and large enough to last you until dinner. The spa is really a must to avoid, as I believe the personnel need more training at their craft. The hotel pool is on the roof and has an amazing view of the city especially at night! Make sure you have some coco loco by the pool as it’s a nicely refreshing cocktail. The staff is very helpful and accommodating at all times. If you want to travel to Boca Grande it’s a five-minute ride on a cab or ten minutes on the bus - all very safe. We booked a trip to Playa Blanca through the hotel. Now that was crazy and disorganized. If you opt to do this, pack some food since the food they offer at the beach it’s not the best.

We stayed three nights at Santa Teresa and loved it. The pool is a life saver in this hot, humid climate. It was always breazy up there and the views are lovely. The hotel is well located, safe and very clean. The beds were big and comfortable and the shower may be the best in any hotel we have stayed in. Breakfast was included and was outstanding. My children said that they would like to live at Santa Teresa. We will definately chose this hotel next time we are in Cartegena.

How can you go wrong with this chain? Great hotel, but the service is typical of the Caibbean laid back attitude -- nothing wrong with it, just trying to manage expectations.

This was a really amazing hotel..... Lush tropical courtyards with friendly toucans .... excellent restaurant and bar ..... delicious daily breakfast. Very efficient and timely daily maid service. Close to all the sites, shops and museums in historic Cartagena. Nice pool as well. Would very highly recommend this hotel for business or pleasure. Seems to be a good place to bring kids as well.

Room Tip: Try to book a room in the old / main part of the hotel.
