Many friends recommend the Xinjiang Regional Museum, there are display of the dry mummies. There are many locations in the Xinjiang desert area found the dry mummies without preservative. It is natural and it didn't like the mummy in Egypt. Amusing display and explanation. Must go there if you visit Urumqi

I had wanted to see this museum for a long time, especially to see the mummies. But, the museum had much more- all beautifully presented. A must see.

The museum is not that big but nice exhibitions and good enough for strolling around. However, the museum souvenir shop has so many cute design stuff which I recommend for looking around if you plan to buy cute and creative souvenir.

This museum is free to get in, but it has lots of interesting things. From ethics people in xinjiang and its culture to their land and also mummies. Very interesting and educational. Worth a visit.

The Museum is well organised with a wide variety of artefacts arranged meticulously. The mummies of an ancient era, some of them identified present an impressive display.
