I stayed at the Wejun for five nights. Sean, Frank, Felicia and the whole staff are great. The location is also good with places to eat, get fresh fruit smoothies and other supplies all close by. What i REALLY appreciated was being close to two nearby parks. Given the busyness, noise and heavy city feel of so many Chinese cities of millions, being able to walk among the greenery and shrubberies with the locals was a balm for my soul.

As far as places to see in Chengdu, if you only go to one, go to the panda park. It's expansive, peaceful and, of course, the only place in the world to see so many pandas. (They have something over 140 of the cute buggers.)

Room tip: A room in the back of the building is going to be more quiet.

It was a hugely pleasant relief to arrive in a taxi from the airport, one crying baby, one overexcited toddler, one grumpy husband and one exhausted me after 20 odd hours of travelling to be warmly welcomed by staff who kindly took all our luggage to the room for us and thoughtfully said we didn't need to bother checking in until we'd had some time to settle. I'd booked online; choosing to stay in this reasonably priced, traditional style hotel rather than suffer some random relative's far out appartment of my husband's choosing.

The location is terrific. For us, the best bit was the cultural park just across the road. Perfect for the kids with boat rides, fish feeding, gardens, soft play and a fairground just a stones throw away from the hotel. There wasn't an amazing array of restaurants nearby unless you love hotpot. The street itself has seen its heyday, with other tourist streets taking over its popularity. However the food in the hotel restaurant was great and the main tourist streets are all within walking distance anyway.

The room itself was extremely clean (a huge plus for China) and spacious with some nice traditional touches. The pouches of coffee were especially welcome!

The staff were excellent and very friendly. They even gave our two boys a cuddly panda each they were more than willing to arrange taxis for us and I spotted some good, reasonably priced excursions on offer.

I can't fault this place for value. A wonderful stay in beautiful surroundings.

Stayed total three nights at early April. My arrival flight delayed 2 hours and arrived hotel at 1.00am, front desk was nice and arranged a room at 3/F. Room was tidy, spacious, clean bed (very important), no strange smell and quiet, we had a good sleep in the first night. After returned from Emei and come back to stay again, we found that the soundproof is not good enough, you can hear someone talking outside clearly during the night. Avoid to select the room in G/F, would be noisy during night.

Indeed, hotel location is good, 5min walk from subway and just few min to China Opera House. We walked for 10min to Kuanxiangzi Street or 30min to People's Park to enjoy the afternoon Tea, it's a good choice other than take the subway.
There are small food shops close to subway station, we tried buns, beef noodles, egg cake, the local style breakfast, that's good to try if you need something other than western bacon and toast. If you need western hardly, there is a fried chicken shop around.

Hotel restaurant was at ground floor in outdoor area, they served Sichuan food and this is the best meal in whole tour. Traditional Sichuan style and delicious, in fact, they served breakfast and beer in afternoon as well. Front desk staff was very helpful and directive, explained very details for all the questions.

We are just completing our family stay here for two nights. The front desk staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Rooms are clean and spacious. Bathrooms are modernized in a recent renovation.

Location is on Qintai tourist area which most taxi drivers should know but our airport taxi drivers didn't know of the hotel itself. (Note airport taxis are powered by CNG so there's little luggage space because of their tanks—we needed two taxis @¥84 each).

The Subway line two is very close and will take you to Chunxi pedestrian street in three stops for ¥2 each way. We took taxi to Junli tourist street and it was only ¥10-11.

The only surprise was that there a sign above the toilet advising that tissues be put in the wastebasket. We interpreted it as being for sanitary napkins so we flushed used bathroom tissues along with our body waste. Resultantly, we had a clogged toilet on our final night which is troubling for a family of four people. A modern, functioning hotel should not have this sort of restriction.

I booked the room through Booking.com. It's a nice hotel and the location was great. It's just only 5 minutes walked to Tonghuimen subway station and 15 minutes walked to Kuanzhai Xiangzi. The reception staff (Sean) are very friendly and helpful. He can speak very good English and Japanese language. He gave us very clear directions and plans when we asked for the trip to Emeishan. We have a great vacation and pleasant stay at this hotel.
