Definitely a must if you are coming to Qingdao. Along with most of what's on trip advisor's app, apart from the beer city. That's only in the summer of August...
The streets near by were awesome too, I don't think it's on trip advisor's app.

Easy to get to with 1 yuan buses.
I felt Qingdao hasn't hit it's peak yet, plenty of construction everywhere we went.

It's basically next to the sailing Olympic Park/port. But all that side was undergoing construction.

There's a few shops by the harbour that sell mostly things made from the sea which was really cool to see, prices are very affordable. But don't forget to bargain down!

The square itself is not so special. However near by is a very nice beachy promenade, which I expect is a good place to spend some time in spring and summer ( we were here on a very cold January day).

Nice walk along water, but really not a lot going on. However it is well kept and tidy. Interesting to note they are building an emergency shelter right next to the water which may be up for debate that it’s the best position for it if a tsunami strikes

May Fourth Square is an easy meeting point for visitors travelling by foot, bicycle or Metro. It’s a relaxed area with lots of families enjoying the sea front area.

Visited durnig the evening of the lantern festival. This was fascinating, full of locals setting off and watching the fireworks.
