We were in China a few years sago...Beijing, Hong Kong, the Great Wall, and further north to the peasant villages. The BEST place we visited was the "museum" that held the TerraCotta soldiers and horses. They are still digging up these treasures. The condition of these artifacts are excellent, seeing that they have been buried for many years. Work is ongoing at this site, which is around 1.5 kilometers east of Emperor Qin Shi Huang's Mausoleum in Lintong, Xian, Shaanxi Province. It is a sight not to be missed by any visitor to China.

This site is amazing. We spent several hours looking around the 2000 warriors on display and then found out that the other buildings contain thousands of warriors which have not been uncovered yet. The facilities are excellent and the history is fabulous. A "must do" in China

This is a extremely interesting exhibit. The building that houses the warriors is about as big as two football stadiums. Discovered by farmers who were working in their fields, they reported their find to the Chinese government and it became a spectacular tourist destination. If you Google this you can read all about this most unique destination. I highly recommend seeing it when you are in the area.

If you are in Xian it's a must do. This is very special. It is also busy and full of tourists. We went with a tour through our hostel, so we didn't have to wait in line for tickets etc. and that was well worth it.

A wonderfully well managed piece of history. The Chinese government is to be praised for the preservation of this site. Spent an entire day there and would return to China just to see this again. If you can visit only one historic site in China, this is the must one.
