Prepare to walk! This is a great place to spend a day hiking and exploring. There is a little amusement park, a chair lift, an alpine slide and on a clear day you can see all of Jinan and more from the top of the mountain. I have been 4 times and find something new on each visit. There are many shrines where people pray, burn incense, and worship. Hundreds of impressive statues and the largest Buddha I have ever seen.

Had a brilliant day here there lots to see during the mountain climb. Seeing the huge gold buddha was the highlight of our weekend in Jinan.

For an European the Thousand-Buddha Park and Caves are a stunning experience. Nice to feel Buddhas's legacy, breath the atmosphere of very religious people going there to pray and enjoy. The Caves with Buddha representations are a great experience and arriving at the top of the HIll and meet the Golden Buddha is just memorable. Nice view over Jinan too.
Place to spend a couple of hours.

Thank José F

Not hard to get to. The Buddhas and the Mountain are clearly visible from the downtown hotels making it a real attraction if you are staying there. The visit is typically a walk up the fairly gentle path and stair upward for an hour or so. Buddhas of many types are placed all along the path. There is at least one major temple area with lots of incense burning. You are encouraged to buy and burn your own. The cave is the most interesting site. You walk into it for about 1/4 mile (not really sure how far it goes in) and you see carved Buddhas all along the walls with a large room at the end with a temple. The walk is not too strenuous and, if it is warm, the cave is a great relief as it is very cool and refreshing. We were fortunate in that the air quality of Jinan was good during the entire time we were in the city.
