This photo is misleading in this four star hotel (that is more like a three star). It is the second photo that is accurate since this hotel has many floors! We were on the 13th. floor and had a corner room that overlooked the Yanttze! Wonderful views every day of river life. A revolving restaurant on, if memory serves correctly, the 24th. floor. Good buffet for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The only drawback was that we were there in early October, and even though our room was very hot, the air conditioner had been turned off. You cannot adjust the temperature of your room and, finally, we were given a floor fan that helped. We rented a two-man bicycle cart across the street so we could ride through the beautiful gardens along the river bank. We had an enjoyable stay before we took a cruise upstream on the Yangtze.

We were just at this hotel, stayed for an hour and checked out because the room was so filthy. We've traveled all over the world in a variety of hotel classes and I've never stayed somewhere so horrible in my life. The carpets and walls were stained all over and the place looked as if it had never been cleaned. I didn't even want to touch the bed or stained chairs. The staff spoke no English so we checked out as fast as possible without a refund. Not even worth spending an additional minute in this unsanitary place.

The impressive foyer at the Yichang international hotel probably sets expectations high, but with everything you could ever need in the one hotel (restaurants, gym, business and function centres etc), it's a very convenient place to stay. Staff are pleasant and willing to help, senior staff speak some English but juniors not really. Rooms are spacious and beds are relatively comfortable. Lack of wifi in the rooms is a downer. Excellent tour service can assist with whatever excursions you need.

This hotel is in desperate need of a renovation. On some floor it appears like they might have started renovating but then gave up. I stayed in two different rooms, both with views of the Yangtze River. The bathrooms in both were clean but small. The carpet appeared to have been there since the people's revolution (ok the hotel is not that old). Bed with typically hard. Rooms were very spacious. Internet and TV were good. They had HBO which I didn't watch much but was nice to have available. Cleaning staff were very good and accommodated every request I made without reserve. I never ate in any of the restaurants. It appeared that of the three that were advertised, only the top floor revolving restaurant was ever opened (at least on a regular schedule). Front desk staff was friendly and many of them spoke at least some English. There are many restaurants in the area. The best thing about this hotel is it's location right across the street from the river park. For the price, I would say overall it is worth a stay.

Yichang are not used to tourists. I guess when people leave the cruiseboats, they go strait to the airport. Yichang don´t have many things to offer tourists, in the 2 guidebooks we had brought along, Yichang was mentioned in 3 sentences combined, mainly describing how to get out of town again.........
The hotel has a big and good looking lobby, very promising. The room we got were located at the 14.th floor with a good view over Yangtze river. The room however was not very clean, and it was not soundisolated. All night long we heard the traffic, and we had to turn off the acc as it sounded like a jetengine.
In the evening we used 1 of the 2 hotel restaurants. It came as a surprise for the staff that anyone accually would use that restaurant, eventhough 3-5 emploies were at sight. 8-10 minutes after we ordered, we were told that 1 of the items ordered was not availible. We gave a new order, an in the same came one of the dishes from first order. Meaning we did´nt ate at the same time......
Breakfast was ok, but not more than that.

I´m guessing that the hotel is the only "nice" hotel in town. In that perspective it´s worth a nights stay, if you for some reason get stucked in Yichang. If there are any other usefull hotels, try them before the International hotel.......
