Wonderful exclusice antique shops next to the reseption area.

Stayed here for 4 nights. There was/is some refurb work being done on ground floor which meant that one had to use the stairs to first floor to catch the lift. The rooms are a decent size but could also do with a refurb. The staff are nice. And a nice touch is you get free daily fruit supply. Big breakfast buffet selection but dishes are not refilled as breakfast time ends. Note. The hotel runs a free airport transfer service.

I stayed in that hotel in June'16. Hotel is very nit and clean. Rooms are specious. Wonderful dining space. Complimentary Breakfast they serve has lot of varieties which is suitable for those visitors who are not from China. All the employees of the hotels are very cordial and helpful. English is not known to everybody but they fantastically manage the same with their few employees who know English. For the Indian vegetarian persons lunch/ dinner may be a problem. They have to choose from veg foods from the menu. Overall experience is great.

It's a rather ok hotel if you are working or have meetings near the hotel or have lots of time to sit in traffic on the half hour of longer jaunt to downtown, Xiamen University district, Gulangyu, or most other places of interest in/on Xiamen Island. Better to hire a car for the day than to pay for taxis, mileage etc.. Of course as this is a Chinese style "business hotel" the doorman will be happy to help you out... if he can understand your Chinese. They have very kind, if not warm, staff including (at times) a foreign guests "officer". The front desk manager, when I was there, also spoke reasonable English... as does the general management team. As for the cleanliness and facilities, aside from a nice upscale lobby area (no private booths or nooks to be sure) I would recommend their tearing down the two towers that compose the guest rooms areas and start over. I look forward to trying the hoyspeings room at their sister 'Best Western' hotel in Tongan (near the swimming beach) on my next visit to Xiamen. As for the dining the Chinese food is definitely up to snuff... good to very good in my estimation. There was a smallish (tight) Japanese style restaurant on the second floor that was good as well. The western style food on the first floor restaurant where they serve the breakfast for their business travelers is rough(ly) fair to good- by western/ Chinese standards.
