This is a somewhat older hotel than the new modern glass and steel ones. Located on Xiamen island in the same area as the Hyatt hotel this offers a refreshing change for business and leisure travellers. I'm guessing it's a 1920s building with other satellite outbuildings all set around a large beautifully manicured lawn. No I didn't stay in my room the satellite building seems to have ground floor apartments with small patios. The paths between the buildings are tree-lined with lots of shrubs as well. The hotel is clean and most of the staff speak limited English, made up by their enthusiasm to help. If you're a fitness fanatic then the swimming pool won't disappoint, about 25 m with a paddling/jacuzzi area. The gym leaves something to be desired for a Hotel like this- a few tired old weights machines- and the running machines are a bit bumpy; no balance balls or balance cushions, just one exercise mat!
Nonetheless I would come here again especially if it was for a few days. For an overnight stay it might be easier to have the convenience of everything being in one building.More
