You will love this hostel if you are travelling in a larger group. The common areas can easily be accommodated by all hostel guests at once.

The staff knows a lot about the national park, possible trekking routes and shares information you likely won't get anywhere else. On top of that they have always been very friendly.

A downside is the lack of a kitchen and the placement of the rooms. The rooms have no windows to the outside, only towards the inside with the common rooms. If you are looking for fresh air and absolute quiet during the night you might be better off somewhere else.

Since we where travelling in a group of 20 and wanted to go to the national park this hostel was a great choice for us.

Dorms are fresh and airy. Family rooms spacious and well appointed. The bilingual manager is very helpfull and obliging. No cooking facilities but not a problem in this town. Not the cheapest but you get more than you pay for.

We stayed here for 4 nights (2 either side it our walk in Torres del Paine).

The room(s) we stayed in were nice. There are 4 + 6 bed dorms and then private rooms - each of the dorms and the private rooms has it's own bathroom, which is cool. Bathrooms are standard, with good, hot, powerful showers. Beds were very comfortable and seemingly pretty new.

The communal areas are nice, with a wood burner and foozball table.

Downsides are it's obviously aimed at an older audience looking to relax, so if that doesn't suit you, bear it in mind. It's also a bit more expensive than some of the other hostels we saw in town + it doesn't have a kitchen.

We were placed in this hostel through a travel agency in Buenos Aires. It was the low point of our trip in Patagonia. The first room we were placed in had a horrible odor. The bathroom obviously had poor ventilation leading to some mold starting to grow around the edges of the wall. The poor ventilation of the bathroom combined with the ancient and dirty carpet in the room lent the room a very sour and disgusting odor and made every piece of furniture in the room feel dirty, down to the wooden shelves provided for putting clothing on. We didn't feel comfortable in the room at all. After bringing this to the attention of the property owner she didn't feel like there was anything wrong with putting customers paying nearly $100 for the room in there. My advice is look around the corner at the plethora of other accomodation options and do not ruin your vacation days in Puerto Natales by staying here. Most importantly don't be deceived by the lovely pictures of the sunny common spaces.

We stayed here for three nights before and after the completing the W trek in Torres del Paine and stayed in a private double with en suite. We were impressed with the rooms (for the price) and level of service and would not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone or stay hear again should the opportunity arrive.

Upon arrival I was impressed with the ample social spaces (warm fires and lovely sun filled glass atrium) and friendly reception.

I thought the location was not going to be quite as central as I would have liked, but I soon discovered that Puerto Natales is so small that everywhere in town is a good location. Hostel Natales has the advantage of being in the same building as Vertice Patagonia one of the owners/bookers of half of the refuges on the Torres Del Paine trek and very close walking distance to Fantástico Sur owner/booker of the other half. Making it dead easy to sort out any last minute details before the trek.

The rooms were basic but very warm and comfortable.

Where I believe Hostel Natales excelled to get a 5 star rating was there level of service.

My wife received what we believed to be a insect bite (on the trek, not in the Hostel) and it was blowing up enough to cause her concern. After struggling to get help from the pharmacist, my wife asked our host if she could recommend an English speaking doctor or pharmacy.

Straight away she was on the phone to the doctor translating my wife's symptoms, she then called her son (who works elsewhere in town) to drive my wife to the doctor and assist with translation in the doctors office.

Her son incidentally works for Gomez bus lines which we used to book transport to and from Torres Del paine and later to El Calafate.

Breakfast was simple but filling and WiFi excellent (better than we had in Santiago). Booking was made direct to the Hostel, and no deposit was required.
