My husband and I stayed in the honeymoon suite for just under 3 weeks. Our main goals were to relax, thoroughly explore Angkor National Park, experience some solitude and celebrate our anniversary, New Years and my husband's birthday. Naomi, her family and the Amatao team went above and beyond the usual call of duty with regards to hospitality, making each celebration a unique and special event. Additionally, we found the solitude we were looking for, especially since we had the resort to ourselves for most of our stay. Our personal Tuk-Tuk driver was exceptional, taking us to Siem Reap and back whenever we asked. One unfortunate discomfort, which I understand is not within the control Amatao, was the poor condition of the roads and the dust between Siem Reap and the resort. If you are not looking for the standard, predictable resort experience and you are up for a bit of an adventure with unique memories, then Amatao resort is perfect for you.

angor is as special as it is supposed to be; siem reap is not; it looks more like a cheap beach resort than a cultural center; AMATAO is outside of (but near enough) siem reap and is just the place to stay in the sphere of the amazing sites. we had the ambassador suite --- ideal, roomy, excellent. we returned from the ruins each day for a late lunch at Amatao --- best food we had in cambodia! 'mr long' the tuk-tuk driver was ideal. absolutely recommended

My partner and I stayed here over New Year and had the most wonderful stay, so wonderful in fact it has been hard not to write an essay on our truly wonderful experience.
You arrive and nothing prepares you for the beauty beyond the gates. The architecture is fantastic and surrounded by beautiful landscaped gardens. The room we stayed in was breathtaking with every possible detail taken in to consideration.
Naomi and the Team are the most warm hearted and generous hosts and provide a one-off first class service. Naomi ensured our stay was just perfect and we were lucky enough to meet her wonderful family who were just as warm hearted and accommodating.
I could continue to write only amazing things about the Amatao tropical residence, however if you are looking for a one in a life time experience surrounded by Cambodian beauty this is the only place to go. Again a huge thanks to Naomi and both her family and team for welcoming us in to the Amatao family.

Amatao Residential Hotel

Discovering Hidden Cambodia perfectly desibes what the Amatao Residential Hotel embraces. A beautiful boutique oasis set in the Svay Prey Village in Siem Reap, where their own Tuk Tuk driver picks you up to journey to this beautiful rural yet lush setting. The residential hotel consists of 4 villas with indoor outdoor spaces set in exquisite tropical backdrop with koi ponds, fountains and a beautifully architected pool. This Khmer-inspired architectural boutique hotel feels more like a luxurious residence with a personal and welcoming ambiance.

The hand-crafted, French colonial style architecture is contrasted with modern amenities including the state-of-the art bathrooms, a wine cellar to house their extensive wine collection, swim-up pool bar, tranquil relaxation retreats throughout the property and soon-to-be “open kitchen concept” restaurant. The small touches really create the Amatao experience. There are also a multitude of dining offerings (including poolside or BBQ terrace, Pergola terrace set amongst botanical orchids collection, wine cellar or an in-room romantic set-up). Amatao also offers unique curated daily excursions based on interest. This all culminates with a special parting ceremony where they wish their guests adieu with the release of a small bird to bid them adie and wish them luck and success in their future travels.
