This temple built for Shiva, one of the Hindu Gods is lovely in the color of the sandstone utilized in the construction and for a difficult to discern reclining Buddha built in the side of the temple itself. This temple is also able to be climbed, for I'm sure a wondrous view. Unfortunately we didn't feel it would serve us well doing all of Angkor Thom in a day to take that time and exertion of energy, our loss.

There are lots of temple in this area the most famous being the Anchor Wat. Our guide told us that when a new king came into power he build a new temple. They are all very similar, with the heat and humidity visit a couple from the many and take a half day tour and leave it at that. There were slightly less people here but still quite busy this was the oldest temple we visited but not sure you would be able to tell the difference. You can climb right to of the top of here and the steps are very steep you get a good view of the forest from the top.

Baphuon is certainly not the most famous temple in Angkor but is however very interesting to visit. An old surelevated runway leads to the main entrance. The temple is high and you will have to climb a lot of stir stair, which is not for everybody easy, especially when the sun is cooking the stones.

Climb the steep stairs for stunning views but if you have walking issues, just view from below. It is next to Bayon and in the back of the temple you will see a resting Buddha.

This is one of the temples you can climb to the top on. The stairs are steep so be careful. Worth the climbing. Among my favourite top 10 temples and located inside Angkor Thom area.
