The Shinta Mani Shack is located on a road which lies between the busy hotels and market areas at one end and the quite riverside road at the other end.
From the moment you arrive in the reception area, you are greeted with a refreshing drink, cool towels and offers of cold water. The staff are warm, kind and helpful from first meeting and they make a real effort to henceforth greet you by name.
We were travelling with out two daughters aged 14 and 17, thus having a double and a twin room. Our room at the Shinta Mani had a balcony and a pool view. The room was beautifully styled and very comfortable. The hotel has only two floors and this gives a personal, family kind of a feel. The pool was around 20m long, the water clear and well maintained. Staff brought iced water and the odd complimentary ice cream treat. Although attentive, there was a relaxed feeling at all times.
The restaurant served a breakfast buffet with a wide choice, well presented and staff couldn't be more helpful. Although vegetarian food is not so common in Cambodia (and both my daughter and I are vegetarian) the chef altered a menu choice to suit our needs.
We spent four full days in the Siem Reap area, two days relaxing, including use of the Shinta Mani Spa, which offered excellent treatments. We spent one day visiting temples of Angkor Wat, leaving before sunrise. We spent a second day visiting the stilted villages at Kompong Phluk on Tonle Sap lake. Both were wonderful trips, for very different reasons.
A special aspect of Shinta Mani is its "Foundation", which helps local farming families by offering hospitality training to young people and also by supporting research into new farming methods/crops for established farming families. The staff whom we met were all working and communicating at a high level, they had often worked at the hotel for many years and were proud to do so.
In summary, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend the Shinta Mani to anyone travelling to Siem Reap.

Room Tip: All rooms seemed to be quietly situated and with view of the pool area

Stayed at the Shinto Mani Shack this week - and first off the staff all of them are the most welcoming and professional I have seen and I’ve travelled with my family around the world. They bend over backwards to make your stay homely and are always smiling and give a personal touch. The hotel is fab rooms are great - buffet breakfast is fine. The pool area is nice and close proximity to the rooms. I have to say the staff make this hotel such a wonderful place to stay and it’s location is central near to lots of restaurants and a Tuk tuk to Pub Street will cost $2 - definitely recommend this hotel for families n just for the sheer friendliness of the staff
