We had a great time and enjoyed wonderful, friendly and warm service from the staff who did everything to help with even the smallest logistical request - from trips to the temples to what turned out to be a spectacular boat trip to Battambang.
We particularly enjoyed the colonial atmosphere not only in the restaurant but throughout the hotel.
We were shocked to learn that all this might change. The hotel is closing for major refurbishment and a new wing is being built across the road. This will more than double the number of rooms and could potentially alter the character and unique atmosphere.
We can only hope the wonderful staff can be reemployed once the hotel reopens in November 2018.

Room tip: Our only complaint - nowhere to hand towels in the room. That’s something the new hotel might fix...

Close enough to everything that you would like but far enough that it is quiet and peaceful. This was a recommendation from a friend and we are so glad we stayed, the staff are lovely and friendly and cannot do enough for you, Any request was dealt with promptly and they were keen for you to enjoy your stay in Siem Reap. We were fortunate in that we arrived for Khmer New Year and expected that it might be skeleton staff but were pleasantly surprised. Breakfast has many choices, although it would be good to have some GF in the menu. No matter where we wanted to go we could have a hotel car or Tuk Tuk or they organised other transport. Fresh flowers and fruit every day was appreciated. Loved the pool to cool of each afternoon, before heading out again. Mixed clientele, there were some families, couples and friend. Definitely go back again.

This is my second time staying here, I love the friendly staff and the breakfast. Since last visit things seem more run down. The AC stopped working a few times and the power went out. The staff were always trying there best to repair things. It is great to see the new hotel is being built as the place has become run down. I look forward to coming back to see the new hotel and the gardens.
The location is fantastic, the food is great and the staff are helpful, friendly and always smiling.

Room tip: The ground floor ones has easy access to the pool

Nice hotel, beautiful architecture and great location. A bit away from the hustle and bustle of Pub street but still within walking distance (or better, take a tuk-tuk) of Old Market, restaurants and shopping area. Friendly staff, breakfast was nice and served in open air dining area. Rooms were spacious, but the mattresses were a bit too hard for my taste. Go visit Artesans d'Angkor, Grain de Cambodge shop and the Made in Cambodia Market. You'll support the local artisans and find some beautiful handicraft to take home. Go have a (bike) tour with Sammaki Tours to get a better understanding of Cambodian's daily lives

Maybe it was the time of day, but the service was lacking in the early afternoon. Good food choices and refreshing drinks--a nice walk from the Angkor National Museum and nice break from the heat. Old pre-Khmer Rouge, black and white photos of famous people adorn the walls (though you'll see more of interest in FCC Phnom Phen). Interesting place.
