“a little oasis”
Reviewed 30 October 2011

We stayed at Bopha for the last few days of our trip to cambodia in October 2011 & it was the best place we'd rested our head in 2 long weeks. Reasonable price (though a little high for siem reap @$60 for a double room w/ king bed) it was worth every dollar. Immaculate rooms, helpful staff, and quiet pool. We made a last minute move there after staying at another hotel and they let us check in early, stow our luggage, and use the facilities there after we checked out & were waiting for our flight home. It has a great location across the river from the pagoda and away from all the bustle, though everything is within easy walking distance.

Nice hotel, spacious and clean rooms, lovely pool, lovely location, all in all a great place to stay.
The major downside is the breakfast which hasn't much continental choice if you don't feel like american breakfast with eggs, hash browns and sausage. If your stomach is playing up, you are left with half a dry baguette and some honey, which is good for a day, ok for two, but upsetting for three.
All in all a good place, but I'd be tempted to have a look around if I were to visit Siem Reap again.

This is one of the best boutique hotels my wife and I have ever stayed at (and we have been to more than 30 countries)! The service was the best I have experienced anywhere at this price level and the rooms were meticulously cleaned. The ambiance is both exotic and authentic at once, the food was superb, wine selection good, and ease of planning excursions couldn't be simpler. The wifi was very fast. We stayed during an unusual flooding period, and while other hotels were inundated, their staff worked around the clock to seal the grounds and pump water out. Despite the flood, the worst in a decade, our experience was very enjoyable. If you are in Siem Reap, don't bother with the luxury hotels full of loud tourists and corporate-style vision of Angkor, stay here and you'll be just fine while saving money for your trip. Highly recommended!

Room Tip: We stayed on the second floor rooms. Truth is, you can't go wrong. Other rooms we saw were even...

A friend had stayed at this hotel in the past and recommended it to us. It's a bit of an oasis in busy Siem Reap. Close to the night market and right on the river. The rooms are comfortable (though the air conditioning could be better), the staff is friendly, the pool is amazing and the restaurant was spot on. Great place for those who want to avoid the overdone hotels in Siem Reap.

We stayed in two rooms while here. The room the first night was on the ground floor in a corner. The room was dark, and noise from the restaurant area was noticeable. Our reservation was for an upstairs room, which was not available our first night there. The next day, we were able to move upstairs and away from the restaurant for the remainder of our stay, and were much happier with that room. It was larger, had more light, and was quiet. The wardrobe / closet was smaller than the first room, but adequate. The bathroom was also smaller than the first room and had no shower curtain. Water sprayed toward the sink, but with practice it was not a big mess. The bed was firm but comfortable, A/C worked well, and the towels and linens were nice. We did the "western" style breakfast each day, and enjoyed it. The fresh fruit was always good. The pool is very nice. It is a good size, clean and was a nice cool down from a day of temple exploration. We had dinner at the restaurant one night, and enjoyed our meals. Not the cheapest in town, but a good meal for the price. We arranged our drivers through the hotel. We needed to be a little insistent on our planned temple itinerary with one driver. A couple times he wanted to wander off to places that were not on our list. Perhaps these were spots where he would have received a kickback for delivering tourists, but he was willing to stick to our requests with a little "encouragement" from us. Location was very convenient. We walked into town several times for dinner and shopping. Overall experience was very enjoyable.
