Small hotel, lovely pool. Really nice grounds however a little bit tired. Bedrooms need a bit upgrading with regards to furniture. The eating area for breakfast was also a bit tired.

By far the best part of this place was the staff and the surroundings. Very calming and relaxing by the pool after you have been visiting temples all day.

Room Tip: Lovely grounds

Booked through AirBNB and tecieved 30% discount for staying a week. Was a small mix up with beds when we arrived as we booked for 3 people and received a room with a king bed only. Upon talking to staff they gave us a roll away bed for our daughter free of charge. Rooms are a bit dated but hey so is most of Asia. The rooms where large and beds where comfortable and clean. The fridge stayed on after rooming key fob which was great for a cold drink after temple hopping. The pool was lovely and cleen. It is a little bit out of town but only a 15min walk or a $2 tuk tuk ride, which we liked as it was nice and quiet at night. The restaurant and bar are quite expensive, but convenient. There is also a qreat chrap vegetarin restaurant just up the road called Vitking, we highly recommend it as my wife and child are both vegan. We would return to this hotel again.

We arrived here after a flight from Phnom Penh and felt on edge almost immediately for reasons I cannot explain. It seemed to be far out of town and down a dust track and we did not get a great welcome more of a mumbled hello really. We were given limited info and when we walked into our room we felt really disappointed. We had booked a deluxe room which I know can mean a variety of things but this was below basic at best. It smelt terrible, it felt damp, the facilities were tatty, the towels were stained, the shower curtain was yellow, it was just not pleasant. We have travelled a lot in Asia and have never had a room this poor for this budget.
We asked to be moved rooms and were told that they did have one twin room which would be ready for us to look at in an hour so we agreed to wait. As we sat waiting (in the original room as they asked us to) we both felt we didnt want to be here. Everything felt dark and dingy and cold despite the 38 degree heat. The pool area looked ok but nothing like the pictures. We were so looking forward to the time in Siem Reap and didn't want a poor hotel to spoil it. We asked at reception if we could cancel our 4 night booking offering to pay for the first night. The man said we needed to call Agoda so we did and they said they would speak to the hotel and see what could be done. They called back to say that the manager had offered us five other rooms and we had refused all of them. He had also told them that we had stayed in the room for over an hour before telling them we wanted to move which was untrue. They also said we had booked another hotel before we arrived. We explained that this was not correct. They asked me to send them pictures of what we were not happy with which we did so. Believe me I have never been one to take photos of rooms but I was also not happy to be lied about.
At this point we decided that regardless of the cost we would leave. Instinct told us this would be a poor experience if we stayed. We walked out to reception and the man there called his boss and said he would refund us in full and then appeared to use the credit card machine telling us he had reversed the charge. We also paid them for the taxi transfer as we didn't want them to be out of pocket. We left and felt although it has been a little tough to do we had made the right decision. Our own fault for trusting them and not asking for the Visa receipt but an hour later Agoda called to say that we had been charged in full as we had refused to change rooms to one of five others and had simply changed out minds according to the hotel. They said we had been unreasonable and had booked somewhere else which was untrue. We had not changed out mind, we had felt the hotel to be inadequate.
We booked a Delux Double and it was awful. We stayed in other budget hotels on our trip and they were all great. We were offered a twin room as a substitute not five others.
So, in summary we didn't stay here and we didn't eat here but we did have a bad experience. We have never left a hotel before and we are well travelled in South East Asia so we know what is the norm.
Whilst we would never want to do anyone a disservice, our experience here was poor and we were lied about and lied to. We didn't expect a full refund, but nor were we happy to pay for a room that was unacceptable.
I expect the manager to defend his actions in reply and he will have his version of events but we are glad we chose to leave. Agoda refunded us after seeing the photos and proving that we had not booked another hotel until two hours after leaving.
I can see from reviews that many people stay here and have an excellent experience but sadly we were not in that group.

A nice relaxing place to come to from buisy pub street, it has great size pool to jump into from the heat, air-con is super icy which is great from 38deg outside.

Thanks to polite staff for a great stay.
See you in the near future

The pool was lovely, the rooms spacious and the beds were not too bad for Asian beds! Our only (very small) issue was the proximity to town, we like to walk but it was just a bit too far in the heat. Tuk Tuks were available however and only cost $2.00 so it was no big deal. We would stay closer to town if we visit Siem Reap again.
