As a family of 4 on a very long overseas adventure, we have stayed in many hotels over the last few months. The staff here were exceptional!
Khemy, Peter, Mark and Coy made it their mission to ensure we had the best time in Siem Reap. Khemy organised so many activities for us and was very helpful with her honest advise and recommendations.
Our boys loved the pool, and we enjoyed the shaded double pool swings ... many an afternoon was spent lounging here!
We were in a family room, with 2 boys each in their own single bed. The room (102) was very spacious and the main bed was massive! The TV was very large and there was always a good movie for the kids to watch.
The room was VERY quiet. We never heard any other guests ... even when we slept in late.
The room itself needed a bit of maintenance ...just the usual stuff. Unstuck board in the bathroom, the shower drain didn't drain well creating a small flood if you showered more than 5 minutes. The shower is not completely private either, as the privacy board had a decorative pattern drilled in it, and it didn't close well.
The only issue that was a problem for us was the wifi connection in our room. It was pretty bad, so the boys had to sit closer to reception so they could access their games. It wasn't a problem for the hotel, so it wasn't a problem for us. Wifi by the pool was good though.
Breakfasts were fabulous. Coy was always there to chat to us about our day and ensure our poached eggs were delivered in a timely manner :) Thank you Coy.
There is a restaurant onsite, and I can recommend it. The food it very nice indeed. Our son rated the beef burger as the very best he has had, and my other son rated the french fries very highly.
I would really highly recommend that you stay at the Memoire d'Ankor Boutique Hotel. The staff are truly outstanding. Khemy is a wealth of information and went out of her way to ensure we had a wonderful time here. She even organised special treats for us ... you spoilt us Khemy!!!
Highlights of Siem Reap were ... Phare Cambodian Circus, and Ankor Wat. It goes without saying you will probably visit Ankor Wat, but please DO go to the Phare Cambodian Circus, it was top of my WOW list.
