This busy eatery is right in the heart of the market area and Pub street. The food is all on display and is cooked to order. We were seduced by the 25cent draft beer before 8pm and what a good thing that was. Our BBQ ribs and fried rice were delicious and the beer excellent (and really cold). One night we had a beef skewer but they were not cooked quite enough, however this was not a deal-breaker since everything else was so good. A really busy little place - great food.

Great fun BBQ ing your own food. A bit like fondue parties in the 70s. A variety of meats were presented and instruction given as to how to use the hot coals. Defiantly no health and safety rules here but great fun

It took awhile for the food to get out. The red snapper was good, everything else that came with it was ok, nothing to special about the BBQ place.

Al fresco dining, we went for a meat BBQ option. Service was appalling and I was about to leave when suddenly everything started to happen.
You get a gas cooker with a sort of aluminium hub cap dish with vents in it. A kettle full of liquid, which turns out to be stock, and a 6 tier plate rack with various meats that have been sliced, it seems, with a microtome. They are very thin! And there is an egg opened on the top plate. Plus a large dish of greens/veggies.
You light the stove and fill the moat with stock into which you introduce veggies and some meat. Most of the meat you dip in the stock to prevent it sticking, only partially successful in fact, and we never did figure out what to do with the raw fried egg.
In short you get tasty morsels of meat which you eat with rice plus you are making a delicious soup simultaneously. This was a great joy to meal and I enjoyed the meal even though it is all quite hard work and hot too.
Would have loved to give 4* but the service was terrible.
Have a go, it's great fun!

Well it had to happen!
A bad review!
We had passed by this place a few times
Always seemed busy, and you could see the guys barbecuing the meat etc
When we arrived literally every table was in use
Luckily one became available close to the cooking area
The table was promptly cleared of a great pile of plates and cleaned and the place mats replaced
Great start!
The staff were very efficient and the Menu was being perused whilst our cold beers arrived in record time
BUT
It's downhill from there
We ordered a starter to share while the order of jacket potato, chicken skewer for my partner and grilled beef on skewer for me
Julie's main course came first!
After a while the starter came!
Whilst waiting for my main,I managed to slowly eat through the the starter
With most of the food finished
We waited and waited
Forgotten?
The thing is the waitress repeated our order back to us!!!
In the meantime the place had emptied considerably
Not an enjoyable experience
I can only put it down to a oversight???
Apart from that, this is an expensive place to eat compared to many of the others
The starter was just a small plate of what looked like minced chicken mixed with various green leaves
I must add it was rather tasty
But not worth $6.50!!!!!
A spoilt evening
