When we first got here, we were shown our room. Fine size, nice enough bathroom (wet room). Our aircon was off so we went downstairs and they said we didn't pay for a room with aircon. Now I know why the rate was so good! To get aircon we had to pay an extra $4 a night. It was unbelievably hot so we had no other choice but to do this. We looked on hostel bookers and could see how unclear it was and where we made the mistake. However it also said we should have a ceiling fan, a fan and toiletries. Apparently not. Just one fan and our toiletries were just toilet paper. In the morning when we woke up, our aircon was off. The main guy had turned it off because when he asked all of the staff who turned it on and why, apparently none of them knew nothing about it!! (Only one guy spoke proper English.) We told him we had asked them to turn it on and said we would pay! He looked at us and spoke to us like we had turned it on ourselves from the front desk!! We came back that evening and all our power had been turned off and our rooms hadn't been made or our towels changed. Apparently you have to ask them to do this. So we asked for the next day as we were going out early. And the power was turned off by "accident." The next day, again our rooms hadn't been made and the power had been shut off again!! This hostel clearly wait till you leave the building to turn your aircon off and save themselves money when we're paying extra for it and would like to come back to a nice cool room after a hot day out. I asked for fresh towels again and was given two wet towels. I said "they're wet" and he said "but they're clean?" Who wants wet towels??? He brought me back two more which were damp but a bit drier I suppose. We asked for a slightly earlier breakfast the next day as we were leaving early. They did do this however they didn't cook what we asked and just said "well can you eat this?" Ridiculous. I asked if they did currency exchange and he said no when later I saw a sign behind the desk saying "money exchange." Good points are they do a good breakfast. Also don't lose your room key as apparently they have no spares and need yours if you want your room cleaned. Think twice.
