Our family stayed here in Feb 2012 for one week. We absolutely loved this guesthouse and they really made us feel at home. The guesthouse is located within walking distance of the markets and old town area of Siem Reap. It is slightly further than some of the other guesthouses from this area, but still an easy walk. It is set off the main street and has a very quiet and pleasant location. The neighborhood was fine and we felt very safe walking even at night.

The rooms are basic, but they were very clean. They also serve a very nice free breakfast each morning. But the best thing about this guesthouse is the family that runs it. They go out of their way to make sure that you have the best stay possible. They also help arrange any tours or transportation that you need. I highly recommend that you have them book your Angkor temple transportation with their tuk-tuk driver. He was fantastic and it really is a great way to see the ruins via tuk-tuk. It is a short pleasant ride to the temples and very easy to get around through all of the crowds.

Angkor is absolutely amazing, Siem Reap is a very nice town and Sam So Guesthouse is a great place to stay. We had the time of our lives and can't recommend this place enough.

Room Tip: The guesthouse doesn't have a pool, but don't worry, for just a few dollars you can use the pool at any of the expensive hotels down the street.

Our friends recommended Sam So as they were really stunned by this place during their stay here a while ago. We arrived quite late in the evening but they welcomed us very warm hearted. Not only the owner, also their staff. They answered all the questions (in very good english) we had about Siep Reap, the tempels and organised us a really nice tuktuk driver for the next day. Even though they were quite busy, they always took time to help us and they were always friendly and honest! They take it very serious to help you in the best possible way for you feel good. Our room was pretty big and for Asian standards very very clean and quiet. The whole guesthouse was clean. Big thanks again to Sam So guesthouse!

Sam so guesthouse was perfect! guesthouse is in a great location very close to Siem Reap town. I rented a bicycle from the guesthouse ($1 per day) to cycle into the town (about 2 minutes away). I was also able to bicycle to the temples (about 6km). They picked me up from the boat station for free and were very nice and friendly and accommodating the entire time I was there. My room was very clean and big, bathroom was very nice as well! Also free breakfast. All around a great deal and great place!!

As we were flying into Siem Reap decide to book our accom in advance to make it easier once we arrived at the airport.
Booked Sam So online. Very easy, good email contact.
They sent a complimentary tuk tuk to pick us up from the airport. The rooms were spacious, clean, with fan and fridge, breakfast provided free of charge. Sam and his wife Theavy (not sure on the spelling sorry) were fantastic, helpful and freindly and not at all pushy. Organised what we asked them to do, but did not try to sell us anything we didn't ask for. Very good value, we were doing the holiday on the cheap and this was definately the best value accom for the whole trip.
The location was great, about a 10 minute walk from the 'centre' pub street etc, but is located down a small cul de sac with just a couple of properties. Quiet, safe.
