We booked this restaurant by our hotel recommendation. This was a good deal, $12/head buffet dinner with plenty choice of food and 1 hour local dance show.

This is a huge restaurant, circa 500-600 seats and the place was full. (I think every night full) But the buffet was nice, layered out in separate area so you have to walk a bit, but there was no big queue and we don`t need to wait for a food replacement, everything went well. This need a good organisation- well done for the team!
They provide international buffet, with live cooking station as well. Many choice, good quality, the taste is a bid average, but they have to pleas 600 guests :-)

Recommended, worth the money and you can not find better deal .

The Apsara dance is worth the money. Food and show for 12USD is a steal. Kids ate free. The show was over an hour and well done.

Our guide for Angkor Wat suggested Koulen 2 and made reservations for us. The table he booked for us was in a great location. The whole set up and organization of the restaurant was a total disaster and huge irritation. The space was one huge open room with large tables in rows and a large stage at the front. It was a buffet from hell! The food stations were haphazard. People attacked the stations as if they had not eaten for days and were told that they only had two minutes to get as much food as possible and that this would be their last chance to eat, possibly for the rest of their lives. There was no regard for anything but grabbing food and piling up plates. Many food stations were out of food and sadly, the food that was there was mediocre at best. Drinks were ordered from the tables and that service was actually not bad which was a relief because by the time I got to my table I really needed a drink. The dance show was not bad, I enjoyed it and from our seats we could see pretty well. One problem with the show was the tourists - this is a major tourist venue. As soon as the show started hordes of tourist jumped up with their cameras and stood right in front of our table totally obscuring our view. Several times I had tap someone on the shoulder and ask them to move. The worst part of the whole experience, though was the clamoring hordes of people shoving and crowding to get to the food in the buffet which was not worth the aggravation. I do not recommend this venue. Although the dancing was interesting and I enjoyed the performance, the overall experience was not worth the time spent.

After one unforgettable day through Angkor Thom and Angkor Wat, we continued the evening with the apsara dance to keep our theme day.
We liked the dance itself but the atmosphere was not that magic because we were surrounded by many other aligned tables or queuing at their huge buffet.
This typical dance takes place every night in many places of the town, because it is a very touristic attraction, I would recommend to look for a more romantic, unique place where to enjoy the soft gestures of Cambodian dancers.

Go to see the Apsara dancers. Ask for VIP seating near the stage. Food is buffet and mediocre - The place is huge so make sure you are in the front. It is definitely worth going for the dancers. FYI - at the end of the performance they allow a few people to go on stage to have their pictures taken with the dancers.
