I stayed for 4 nights in May with my son. The rooms are big, clean and in good shape. The beds are very comfortable. The bathroom is a wet bathroom, with no shower.

The A/C is OK. There is free wi-fi, but it's iffy. I had to go out and manually reset the modem a couple of times. They had three desktops in the lobby (you can use them for free from 7 AM to 9 PM) with internet access. I ended using them a couple of times.

Breakfast is included. You have 8 choices for breakfast (5 of them local style, with noodles). The breakfast was good, though portions were not American style -i.e., big.

There is no phone service inside the room. You can't get calls into your room (for me this was a surprise).

The staff was very friendly. Mr. Meng, the manager, was very helpful. They can get you tickets to any destination by bus (using Capitol Tours Bus company). You can also get a car or a tuk-tuk through them for a day to go to any attraction in Siem Reap (Beng Mealea, Angkor Park, Kbal Spean, Floating Village, etc.). The quoted prices were very competitive -i.e., a little bit below the competition.

The first day you get a welcome drink (an excellent fruit smoothie) and fresh fruit. Not bad.
It's a short walk (10-15 minutes) to Pub Street and the nice restaurants in Siem Reap. If you jog, you can jog by the river (4 blocks from the hotel). It's nice early in the morning (6 AM).

Pleasantly surprised by this small guesthouse just off the main road in Siem Reap. Safe and within walking distance of shopping and many restaurants. Do be aware of some tuk tuks close to the hotel, always discuss a price before leaving for your destination.

clean rooms, staff were friendly and responsive, however my room was west facing so was a little hot in the evenings.

Room Tip: take the rooms on the ground or 1st floor. the top floors get very hot in the afternoons. remember to remove your shoes upon entering the hotel as a courtesy to the culture.

I turned up without booking at Ta Som Guesthouse and was greeted very warmly then shown available rooms. Nothing was too much trouble. Good location for short walk into main streets of Siam Reap. Free Wi-Fi in reception. Very friendly staff. Would recommend 100%

Room Tip: It is on a main busy road but its set back enough not to have too much problem with any room you choose. Don't feel concerned about wanting to see different rooms. They really do care and want you to have plenty of choice. Will provide Tuk Tuk to see Angkor Wat. Good degree of English spoken too.

Besides the free breakfast don't bother with the restaurant. However, it was cheap convenient and had helpful staff.
