My boyfriend and I spent the three day Labor Day weekend in Andover at the Highland Lake Inn--it was one of our best vacations ever! We both like to bike and the Inn is extremely convenient to the Northern Rail Trail. As you can guess from its name, the Inn is also very close to Highland Lake where we were able to kayak, swim and just relax on the beach. The hospitality of our innkeepers, Pecco and his wife Gail, exceeded all expectations. Pecco was very informative about various bike routes, recommended local restaurants, let us use their 2 person kayak, arranged transportation to Sunday church services, invited us to a neighborhood square dance and even fed us before the dancing! I had not square danced since junior high P.E. classes and it turned out to be my very favorite part of our vacation. Oh yes, breakfast was very good also! We will definitely return again.
