“Beautiful hotel adjoining Festival City”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 June 2012

We spent two nights at this lovely hotel arranged by Regent Seven Seas Cruises before boarding our ship en route to Athens and Istanbul in late March 2012. The room was spacious, clean, well-equipped and comfortable. The restaurant served a truly amazing buffet breakfast with the widest variety of food of just about every ethnicity I can think of; all seemingly of superb quality although we didn't even try to sample many of them. Staff was knowledgeable and helpful, although the Concierge was a little disappointing - they were unable to get us into the Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest building, even with a day's notice. Well prepared concierge operations in nthis class of hotel are usually prepared to help guests who have limited time to see the major sights. Otherwise, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Dear "countFlorida",

I am delighted to learn how much you enjoyed your recent stay at InterContinental Dubai Festival CIty. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience here on TripAdvisor.

Thank you for acknowledging so many positive elements of your stay such as the "spacious, clean and comfortable rooms" and the '"helpful and knowledgeable staff". I'm also glad that you had the chance to try out our breakfast at Anise and found this to be an enjoyable experience and the food to be of "superb quality". I was however disappointed to learn that the concierge team were not able to provide you with a last minute request to visit the Burj Khalifa. Rest assured the matter will be discussed with the team and will be given careful attention to in the future, so we're well prepared to manage such requests.

Thank you once again for recommending us to other travelers here on TripAdvisor. I sincerely hope we will have the pleasure of welcoming you back to the hotel in the near future.

Best Regards,

Tom Lord

I did a site visit to this hotel and I was very impressed. The hotel has all the trimmings of an upmarket 5 star, modern hotel. The views are amazing. The restaurant that we lunched at had the most divine dishes to choose from and the most out of this world desserts.
I loved the theme colours throughout the hotel especially the lilacs, purples and cerise. The rooms were lovely, simple, but classy. Also lovely views from the bedrooms. The bathrooms were to die for. We had a very vibrant and bubbly young man who was our hotel guide, and as Sales Manager, he was very good in marketing the hotel to us.

For an InterCon of the size and location of this property, the first thing that strikes you is how strangely quiet the lobby is. The property and rooms are designed with a stylish modern touch, perhaps a tad too modern with too many sharp edges. The bathroom contains an isolated bathtub and the layout is impractical as all the taps are far away from both the bathtub and the shower.

The location is great: 10 minutes from the airport, and attached to the massive Dubai FC Mall.

The room was spacious and well equipped. However, the lighting system is awkward, and one of the phones needed to be fixed (indicating that there is no regular checks of room equipement).

All said, the best aspect of the property is the incredible quality of the breakfast spread. It caters for almost all palettes: a good opportunity to camel's milk!

Room Tip: Try to find a room on a high floor to get the best views.

Dear "MKH-SG",

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback about your recent stay at our hotel on TripAdvisor.

I am indeed happy that you appreciated several aspects of your stay such as the "great location", the "spacious and well equipped room" and the "incredible quality" of the breakfast spread.

It was however unfortunate to know that there were some aspects of your stay that did not meet your expectations, in particular the inconvenience of the bathroom and the lighting system in the room. Rest assured, we have made a note of your feedback and will review our room facilities.

Thank you once again and I certainly hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back to our hotel in the not too distant future.

arrived at the hotel very late due to a flight delay and long lines at immigration. The night staff had some initial issues finding our reservation, but it was quickly resolved and we went to our room. Rooms were well appointed, plenty of space, nice and big bathrooms with a "wet cell" rather than a shower and separate bathtub. Beds were comfortable and hotel was quiet (13th floor).
Breakfast buffett in the morning was outstanding. Do try all the local specialties, breads and cheeses. There is no need to have scrambled eggs...really. Yes, the buffett offers that too, but why not try the local offerings...they are well worth it.
Hotel is located in the Festival City District connected to the Festival City Mall. If you have time, it's worth a stroll.
Enjoyed our one night at the hotel.

From the arrival at the airport to the departure back to the airport, the service was 2nd to none. Lexus car pickup arranged by the concierge. 5 mins from airport to hotel. Amazingly fast check in, quick pint in the lounge bar. [ Only Stella on draught ]. Room extremely clean, well scaled including iPOD docking station and DVD player. Wet room c/w bath instead of shower stand alone shower and Creek View whilst in the bath..!!
Breakfast catered for every and I mean every need irrespective of culture. Staff extra ordinary pleasant going out of their way at ever opportunity.
Business or pleasure, recommended.

Room Tip: Room with a Creek View
