“Big price but the rooms and service are great”
Reviewed 13 April 2012

Stayed two times at Dubai International Hotel with my husband. Rooms are very nice, they offer smoking rooms too. In the room you can find coffee and tea. Drinks in the mini bar are to pay but price is much lower then in the airport coffee shops. We got clean towels and two bathrobes. Also they bring us fresh fruit. Rooms are nice and so quiet comparing to noise at the airport. There is internet in the room but you have to pay for it and if you want to make an international phone call you have to pay in advance at the reception.
Both times we took our room at the airport didn't booked in advance. Does anyone knows is there any discount if room is booked in advance (online)? We are travelling in August again and have 18 hours layover and will take a room again. Is the price the same for 8 hours, 15hours or 24hours??? First time we stayed for 8 hours and second time for 12 hours and I think we paid $30 more second time. Also does anyone knows are they charging for hotel pool or it is included in the price ?
I would definitely recommend this hotel it is better to spend $200 for a quiet time, shower and the bed then sleeping at the chairs and floors with all that noise

The chance of flying from Bangkok to Baku via Dubai was one I had to take - recently I have had to go on the longer and more tiring route via Istanbul. One of the pleasures of flying via Dubai is that you can have a break inside the airport and take a room in the International Hotel. I must admit that I have stayed there a few times but never whilst a member of this site.

I have stayed in both sections of the hotel in Terminal 3 and Terminal 1, and I do have a preference for Terminal 1 to be honest. It's quieter, and the Irish Bar is nearby and you don't have that long walk from Terminal 3 to the bar and back.

This time I had 6 hours to break between flights and as I am not a business class passenger with Emirates and my onward flight to Baku was with Azerbaijan Airlines, I didn't have the option of the lounges.

I was met on arrival at Terminal 3 by the hotel staff, smartly presented, and was helped with my baggage and we walked the long distance to Terminal 1. we had a very friendly talk along the way. Check in was very smooth, again friendly, and I was directed to my room. I was offered the password for the internet but declined it.

The rooms are just as cosy as any normal hotel. Large bed, TV with remote, fully supplied bathroom and shower, complimentary fruit, room service and a mini bar. I took the quick chance to catch up withthe news from the BBC, and caught up with sleep for 3 and a half hours. Shower and change of clothing, and I was able to leave all my belongings in the room safely to do my duty free shopping, go to the Irish bar for a good filling lunch (the full breakfast is reccomended) and then back to the room, re-pack my bags with dirty clothes and duty free, a quick check-out again friendly staff, and a short walk to wait for the on-ward flight.

The great thing is that the Hotel is inside the airport, it is excellent for a break of 4 hours or longer. I always feel so much better than sitting around in a busy airlines lounge, or walking around the terminal around and around in circles trying to avoid the people sleeping on the floor etc.

So again it was good to be back there and find that the service is still the same.

We were traveling to the Seychelles and had a 6 hour layover in Dubai. We considered utilizing a lounge, but our Travel Agent suggested the Dubai International Hotel at the airport. We are so glad for this suggestion. This hotel provides great value. My wife was initially not sure if it was necessary. However, after the 14 hour flight from New York to Dubai, she was very grateful for this hotel reservation.

Upon our arrival, we were met by a hotel representative and escorted through a special security area and then checked in; we even exchanged dollars for dirham and were then escorted to our room--all within 15 minutes. We were not required to go through customs or immigration since we were not leaving the secure area of the airport.

The rooms are comfortable and the bathrooms provide everything you need to prepare for the next leg of your journey: mouthwash, toothbrush, toothpaste, combs, shaving kits, robes, slippers, shampoo, conditioner, lotions, etc.

Remember, you will not have access to your checked luggage, just the carry on. This is actually a great convenience; a couple of items we did not need to think about. When we checked out we only had a short 10 minute walk to our gate from the hotel. We did not have to go through any additional security, customs or immigration.

Depending on how long your lay over is, there are a number of restaurants which are an easy walk from the hotel.

We very much enjoyed this hotel and look forward to using this hotel as a lay over during a planned trip to Morocco in 2013.

So convenient with easy check-in for the exhausted traveller. Very comfortable with good space to get some work done if needed. The wide range of restaurants available in the terminal is a bonus. Expensive but worth it.

Had to take a shower before a 16 hour flight. Booked in at the Executive rooms in the hotel for $90 per hour. Worth the price.

All the luxury you can think of when you in need of a pamper.

Staff are very competent
