“Dream come true”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 May 2012

For me this was indeed a dream come true, I always wanted to experience of a REAL DESERT RESORT and I have to say that I was not disappointed.

This was truly a magical place, quite different to what I have experienced before (in fact that’s what I was looking for…). The resort was located away from the city , so If you are looking for a place to stay while visiting the city this may not be the place to be.

It was quite difficult for me to pin-point the most exciting thing about the resort since I truly felt in love with the desert resort concept as a whole, however if I need to pick one it would be the infinity pool. I felt so relaxed when I was in the pool and I almost forgot that I’m in the middle of the desert.

Even though you are in the middle of nowhere , you will not run out of things to do. When I was there, they had a falcon show in the evening and gave a feel camel ride to all the hotel guests. At night , you can either try the authentic Arabic restaurant ( just WOW,!!!! even if you not going to eat there, just go and see the place. ..) or the Indian restaurant ( I can’t comment on this as I didn’t try any of the dishes).

Overall, I had a famous stay here and the only MISTAKE I did was just to stay there only for one night. Since there is so much to do and see I would highly recommend two night stay.

A stay of a very restful 3 days was magic after a hectic two and half weeks in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. The Staff, food, environment and service was second to none. The whole resort had a perfect "middle eastern" flavor about it and the rooms were no exception. As a senior solo female traveler i would most definitely stay there again.A very different experience from the Dubai City feel.

Room Tip: As I did not see any other rooms I cannot say much. I guess the desert view rooms may be quieter tha...

It was a wonderful weekend - recreative for adults and children. The pool area is great. The staff was very nice and attentive. The kids (2&6) had a great time. The desert restaurant Al Hadeera was a great experience. The food was excellent and the show exciting. Overall an unforgetable weekend.

We have had day pass only in this hotel for a desert trip, so cannot judge the rooms and sleep quality. It was our base for jeep ride and other activities, such as camel ride and falcon show. The environment was very nice and clean and the service was very good and we have spent a very nice day there. Also the lunch buffet was delicious and of great choice. If you go there for advanture, do not expect too much from the camel ride, as they will do only small 1 minute circle with you. :) Falcon show is also rather modest.. I recommend this destination for nice relaxed day in the desert..

It was the 2nd time I stayed in Bab Al Shams. The 1st time was when the resort was still operated by Jumeirah group. I would say Meydan as the new management has done the job.

I took my family who came to visit me in Dubai for a weekend night. The resort is 45-minute drive from Dubai with the good rood condition. It was an easy drive and the resort signs from the Dubai to the resort are clear. We arrived one of our rooms are not ready but there was no problem we spent time in one room and by the pool. When another room was ready the guest relation lady came to the pool to deliver the key which made everything easy.

Two camels standing by in the evening for any guest who would like to have a glimpse of the desert as well as the falcon show. My sister and my niece aged of 6 had a great time.

The pool attendant and the waiter were very attentive. The food portion is generous. We went for a drink in a rooftop bar before heading for dinner at the Italian restaurant. The Chef was kind and made the tailor made dish off the menu as our request.

I will definitely recommend this resort to anyone. Only shortfall would be mosquitos, keep the door closed at all time or you will have wing friends in your room.
