“A picture into the past”

Great little museum, does not seem much when you first go in, just an interesting courtyard in the fort with some displays, but when you go down stairs it is a great step into the past of Dubai.

“Worth a visit”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 April 2012

We went on a day trip from Abu Dhabi. It's nice to see the culture old and new. It takes about one hour. Cheap entry about 4D £1. It's a fort with indoor and outside parts. At the end is a museum shop with some quaint traditonal items.

“I was very positively surprised!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 April 2012

The museum is nothing I expected, set up in an 18th century fort with a very clear way of explaining the history of Dubai - wow! I have learned so much for the 3 dirhams that I payed! Dubai does have its history, do not be fooled by its presence - there is a past that the Emiratis have right to be proud of! Truly a great museum, not at all overwhelming nor too big, very much to the point.

“Worth visiting 100%”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 April 2012

I loved the what seems to be tiny at first sight! An old fort, where nomads protected themselves fro the enemy tribes, where there were in disply the hats where those people lived and ways they used to make their ives easier with the heat they had to put up with..wonder around the courtyard and then enter and walk down in to the past, present and future of Dubai!!! Impresive, geniously set up...loved going back again and again!!!
