Local: Far from Jumeirah beach but in front of creek and at walk distance to many interesting
atractions of old town as Gold souk and the narrow streets that show old Dubai.
The bulding: in exterior is a too tired style of 70's inside is very acceptable , with big rooms, good sights from there , very good restaurants.
The reception staff is very helpfull, kind and competent as concierge.
The swimming pool with a bar is not too big but is sufficient to refresh drinking an aperitif and a pleasant local.
The breakfast is very good.

This is one of the first 5 stars of Dubai and the Radisson has done a decent makeover inside the rooms. Was here for a conference which was hosted in the same hotel so made perfect choice. But if you are spending your money do proper research as there are many options available in the price range. Rooms were spacious and comfortable, the tapered dimensions making one end smaller than the other. Big Study table with plug point for you to arrange your files and PC. Remember the 20% tax which will be added at checkout.

+
1.Central location, 5 minutes’ walk from Union Station (Dubai Metro).
2.Balcony with a table and chair, a bit small to fit 2 people but gives nice views of the Creek.
3.Hotel operates their own cruise, the Al Mansour Dhow at 8pm boarding just opposite the hotel and serves a great buffet but limited entertainment.
4. Good variety of eateries.
-
1. Dodgy characters in the vicinity of the reception, Kubu Lounge and shopping area in the night.
2. Limited free parking adjacent to the hotel which strangely was always full forcing us to use the paid parking adjacent to the street (brown building with a pool).
3. Exorbitant Security Deposit demanded for processing Visa (so did it through company)

Room Tip: If you are going for the standard option and want a great creek view ask for rooms closer to creek due to the diagonal layout of the hotel, the view is cut of by the building opposite as you go inwards.

I've taken groups to the Radisson Blu 3 times and for me it's an obvious choice. The staff are always good to work with. The location is great - one of the best downtown hotels, and right on the creek. All rooms have balconies facing the creek. Right behind the hotel is the Metro Union Station where the two metro lines intersect. You can arrive at the airport, board the metro and zip right to the hotel. Rooms are very nice, as are the bathrooms and amenities.
If you are on one of the club floors, the exclusive lounge is a real benefit.
The hotel also now has free internet, which is a great added benefit.
Breakfast in the Boulevard Restaurant is excellent with a wide choice of options.
They have a really nice spa area with pool, tennis, gym, sauna, steamroom etc.

Room Tip: Ask for an upper floor and if you ask for a nonsmoking room, make sure it hasn't been smoked in recently. If it has, ask for another room - staff are very accommodating. Guests in that part of the world are notorious for ignoring 'no-smoking' policies!

I booked two rooms for one week for a family holiday over Easter.

The hotel is in a terrific location. The rooms are comfortable and perfectly adequate; they represent very good value for money in a city where excess is all around you. The staff were, to a man (and woman) very professional, helpful and genuinely friendly. The views of the Creek are a small bonus; the on-site restaurants are pretty good (but, of course, in Dubai you are well and truly spoilt for choice) and it is hard to find fault. Even the laundry charges are acceptable; in some hotels I can replace my clothes for less money than I would be charged for cleaning them.

All in all I would say the Radisson Blu on the Creek represents excellent value for money for either a business trip or a city break in Dubai. The only downside was the arrival, a couple of nights before we left, of a couple of rowdies who stayed in the room next to my daughter (Saudis I think). They returned from the nightclubs at 3am and started shouting on their mobile phones in the middle of the night. Despite the hotel management intervening three times in one night on our behalf they refused to modify their obnoxious and anti-social behaviour and my daughter ended up being moved to another room so she could get some sleep. The staff however helped us as much as they could and were very accomodating and helpful.

The one thing that did surprise me was the prevalence of single girls tottering around on Louboutins in the Jazz bar (I did not visit either of the other two pubs) - it certainly raised the eyebrows of my 20 year old daughter and her Mum, as they had not been to the Middle East since we left my last expatriate posting in 1993. How times change.

I am actually a Club Carlsson gold card holder, so I do like the chain. But this one was a real stinker. No upgrade available on arrival, a room that reeked of smoke, even though supposed to be a non-smoker. Also the rooms were grubby and small, with tiny, claustrophobic bathrooms. I guess that turned out to be a blessing, as the toilet overflowed and flooded what little floor there was. Concrete balconies offer a view of the creek, which by Dubai standards is an interesting view, but it didn't make up for the rest. I was supposed to be there for 13 days, I left after 3 when I could stand the depressing bathrooms no more. A lot of 'working girls' hang around this hotel too. On the plus side, there are lots of decent restaurants to choose from in the hotel complex and to be fair the staff were very pleasant and as helpful as they could be, under the circumstances. I moved to the Battuta Gate, a hotel with really nice, comfortable, clean rooms and large bathrooms. But with views of a smelting plant on one side and a shopping mall on the other. But that's Dubai.

Room Tip: Ask for a Business room if you can, they are the same size and layout, but marginally nicer.
