“Great Golf”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 April 2012

The first thing people picture in their minds when they think of Dubai is desert and lots and lots of sand! Playing Al Badia you forget that you are in the middle of the desert - unless of course you're trying to get out of a bunker, but the lushness and water on this course is amazing!!! Challenging but all in all a fun course!

“decent course with great offers available...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 April 2012

fantastic value, tricky front 9 with plenty of water. the club house is of the best standard offering jacuzzi, steam room and a vip section too. the 1 negative is it seems we get caught up in human traffic on the way around, maybe better marshalling or a bit longer between each tee time would make the whole experience ideal...

“A Swanky Gourmet Picnic Experience”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 April 2012

Dubai is a great brunching destination with all sorts of brunch experiences but this one does stand out for a simple reason - the concept (5/5 for it)

We wanted to celebrate but didn’t want to go down the usual dress up - candle light route esp. with a hyperactive 6 month old in tow. We thought a picnic would be a novel idea and a gourmet picnic at that to respect the occasion fitted just right. We kept out figures crossed and booked it.

Ambience – A beautiful set up and display. The wicker basket, checker cloth, bread sticks and the garden umbrellas. We had booked the ground seating called the blanket seating. Table seating is also available. There were a total of 10 to 12 groups in a large garden lawn and a lot of space between each to allow privacy. It is very child friendly and our kid had a great time crawling all over the lawn. Older kids were playing ball and having fun. The far end had more of a couple sort of space without the hustle bustle.

Food – I would give a 3/5 for the food as I am primarily a chicken and veg eater. I saw a lot of other meat options too. The highlight was the candy/desert/cookie section beautifully done up with all the goodies a sweet toothed can dream of including cotton candy  . The Picher of lemon mint was lovely and the tea with breads and jam in the end was great. The Thai/Asian section was good too.

Service – 5/5 for the great service and spirit.

Damages – The non alcoholic package that we took is AED 225 per person. The unlimited champagne package seemed to be very popular with most.

Downside – Our super big and heavy garden umbrella kept flying away and could have caused hurt to anyone on its way. Although the staff hurried and helped it to stay in place by putting heavy boulders on it but it was still wobbly and we had to keep an eye out for it.

USP – Its not a stuff yourself silly and make place for the next person to use the table brunch. The place is yours till the restaurant closes at 4:30. So no rushing to accommodate bookings after you. You slowly enjoy the food – take a walk in between – lie down on your blanket under the sun – eat again, which was a refreshing change.

“so expensive it hurts”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 April 2012

You can get discounts and special offers but let's face it golf in Dubai is expensive and that kind of kills the fun stone-dead.This is a wondrous course but you ned to take out a mortgage to play a round, tip your caddy and then have a bite to eat in the club house.
