This was our second stay at Novotel Suites MOE, we are a family with two children aged 12 and 10 and we booked a Grand Suite which is a good space for 4 people. Loving the fact the room had two toilets and two showers! Room is pretty basic, but it's all you need for a stay where you only need to use the room to sleep. Matress on King bed was a little hard but otherwise managed a great sleep - we were there for 3 nights.
Service was brilliant - both times in fact. Amazingly, staff at the front desk waved to us like we were recognised from our stay 3 months earlier!!!
Location is great for Dubai - very close to Mall of the Emirates, albeit the walk takes you across a busy road with a very narrow pavement, don't think I would like to try it with a toddler or a buggy - maybe there was another safer entrance that we missed? Anyway the Mall is great for eating out and can be done pretty cheaply if you're on a budget. Metro is about a ten min walk but taxis in Dubai are pretty cheap and metered.
We took breakfast each day, it is only AED55 if you book at the hotel on check-in but AED66 if you book online. There is a choice of A la Carte in the hotel's Deli resteraunt or a buffet in the next door Ibis. We tried both each time we stayed and the A la Carte in the Novotel wins every time. Attentive staff, better quality food. Kids eat free but have a special menu. Ours eat like horses so we ended up doing some trading amongst ourselves - end result was great, quality and quantity was perfect. Tip: forget the Ibis buffet, the idea is great but really not worth the money (and the scambled eggs were awful!)..
There is a Nando's coming soon directly next to hotel and a cafe across the road or else a mass of fast food outlets in the Mall, doubt anyone goes hungry in Dubai.
Room tips: we had a room at the front of the hotel first time which was nicer than on our recent trip (maybe a higher floor can escape the small amount of road noise) This time we had a room on the 6th floor facing an apartment block which was directly under the rooftop pool! We could hear people jumping in, but thankfully the pool closes at 8pm so there was never a real problem being disturbed! This is not the best hotel if you like a room with a lovely view but you pay for what you get!
We love Dubai and would definately recommend this hotel for families. It's clean, modern and Grand Suite space has loads of room for those shopping bags!!
Shame internet access is only in the lobby.
