“I went to a birthday party at the Shore Restaurant at Atlantis.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 6 August 2012

I went to a birthday party at the Shore Restaurant at Atlantis, and it was a great evening. It's an aquarium all the way leading the restaurant, very interesting. The food, staff, and decor were 5 stars, for sure. Definitely a place to bring someone to impress, if you have a few extra Dirham. ;>)

We booked an overnight stay to break the journey to the UK, so my comments are from a short experience only. However, I would say, if you want a pleasant and relaxing place to stay as a jet lag buster, do not book here. We also chose this hotel because we knew we would not be doing any tourist activities on this leg of our trip, but wanted some diversion for our 11 year old in between sleeping and going back to the airport. The water park itself is good. The "lazy river" style rides are a bit slow but an attendant told us that they had had to reduce the speed because of accidents. Shame. It was exceedingly hot while we were there and there is some questionable setting out in the park (there is only one changing area and lockers, right back at the entrance which is a very long walk from any of the rides and/or seating areas). The maps are not very helpful if you want to try to short circuit getting around (lots of dead ends which you can't tell on the maps). The aquarium was excellent and I would recommend spending time in the "lost caves", although the free viewing points (especially while having a coffee at the cafe) are also excellent. The hotel itself was chaotic, noisy, with lots of uncontrolled children (and some old enough to know better) running about. Questionable levels of dress by some people in the public areas given it is a muslim country. The staff were frazzled and some were rude. I went to confirm the return transfer to the airport using their luxury car service and was told they did not have it booked. After a gabble in their language, it was clear there was a problem. I was not happy, and when they said do I want a minivan, I hit the roof. After some frantic phone calls, they told me the luxury car I had booked and paid for would be available after all, they tried to pretend there had never been a problem. Could have done without the need to make a fuss. The room was distinctly average, although we booked a low level floor because we were only in it for one night and intended sleeping lots. However, it was dark and unwelcoming.

Room Tip: Not a restful hotel, and not an arabian experience at all.

This park is amazing for a child like me. This park is for all ages, the highest waterslide in the world. Exhilarating rides, for al ages from a lazy river to a skin jumping ride, although the rides are all about 20 mins que but its all worth it the rides are about 5 minutes each apart from the leap of faith. I am lucky enough to live in the UAE so we visit this place quite a bit and every time we do we stay in suite witch is lovely. the balcony is the size of the living room.... are view was looking over the park and the atmosphere was great. I recomend this hotel + Park

Room Tip: Honestly i have only stayed in one room and thats the exutive suite so recomend its very bright larg...

4th trip to Dubai, first time at Atlantis and stayed for 2 weeks. On the 2nd day we had to upgrade, with 3 kids we faced the prospect of a travelodge style room and evenings sitting on the bed in silence. Extra £1400 got us a decent room and it still stank of smoke from other rooms. I ordered a cake for my wife's birthday, they forgot. Staff required allot of explanation for everything it became a joke. Food if staying for more than a week is poor quality and repetitive, the Italian and French are a joke, tasteless food and service poor. The sea is lifeless and full of algae and stagnant jellyfish. Check in/out staff rude and tried to overcharge us over £300. Massively overpriced for everything, we always spend good money on our holiday but this place doesn't return you with anything, our problem is that our previous trips we stayed at Dah Al Masyaf, if Atl is 5* then DAM is 6 or 7 do yourself a favour save some money, avoid the marketing hype and don't touch this place. Gym pathetic for a tower block of this size

Room Tip: You'll find an excellent room at Dah Al Masyaf

My other half and I have recently returned from the Atlantis Dubai.. Friday to Monday without the tiddly winks.. Wow!!!!!!!!! Cannot understand reviews saying staff are rude??? From the cleaners round the pool to the security on the doors, they were the most polite and helpful staff I have ever come across.. Always a smile and greeting. We swam with the dolphins, had a massage and ate in as many restaurants as we could.. Went half board and stayed in the imperial club which meant happy hour for 2 hrs.. They were at yr table before u emptied your glass to refill.Rooms were immaculate, bed was huge and very comfy. Yes it was busy in reception at times but we loved people watching, all the different couples and families coming and going. I came home with the most beautiful new handbag from one of the boutiques in the hotel, not cheap but won't get it anywhere else. Can not find any fault at all at this hotel.. Beautiful with stunning views and so much to do. Only thing I can say was it was ridiculously hot but that was our own fault for going at the end of July. Loved it!!
