“Lovely hotel & great location”
Reviewed 11 March 2012

This hotel is also known as the Lotus Villa Boutique Hotel. It is on a quiet street parallel to the main street. The rooms are arranged around a courtyard where a delicious breakfast is served. The monks alms procession passes here each morning. Spacious room. Super staff.
Highly recommend it.

Room Tip: Choose a room overlooking the courtyard.

We loved the location of this hotel. We were right in the heart of the UNESCO sight and every street was interesting to walk. The monks alms procession was right in front of the hotel, so you just had to be up early to enjoy this daily ritual. There is a wonderful couryard and the breakfast served here was excellent. We enjoyed the staff as they were very helpful and friendly. We were also impressed that the hotel supports a local orphanage and is also very active in improving literacy among the children in Laos. There are so many wonderful restaurants in the piece of paradise that you could stay for weeks and never eat in the same place twice. We loved the tranquility of LP and the leisurely place of life. We stayed for 4 nights and wished that we had stayed for at least a week.

Room Tip: I would chose a room on the upper floor and one facing the street to easily view the alms procession...

Good location - the morning alms collection goes directly outside the hotel, very close to restaurants and the temples. The rooms are set around a lovely shady courtyard where breakfast is served and you can order drinks there. The room was lovely - plainly furnished in Laos style, but elegantly so, with a lovely shower in one corner of the room. You request a screen or hair dryer from reception. The room was really clean, and the bed really comfortable with good quality linen.

The breakfast was, as the Lonely Planet says, excellent, with hot bread, fresh juices or fruit shakes of your choice, and several food choices. I really recommend the fragrant omelette.

Reception service was good, really friendly, and a good level of English spoken with good recommendations given.

Only not so good points are that the service at breakfast was a bit slow, and the wifi not great (which seemed to correlate with the night reception man playing games on the computer!) although there are 2 computers which are free to use.

This is a well run boutique style hotel - very well organised and staff have a professional 'eager to please'approach. Help with onward travel or touring was very useful. Rooms are of a high quality and generally quiet especially away from the main road. A choice of breakfast items well cooked and you were not limited in the items that could be chosen. This was by far our most expensive hotel in SE Asia although in fairness seemed to be the going rate for this quality in this town.

Room Tip: Rooms on the front tend to be noisier especially during the procession of monks at about 6am - great...

We recently stayed at this hotel, great location and its a very clean, cute boutique hotel.
The staff are very friendly and were happy to help whenever we had questions. The rooms were lovely and had a balcony that overlooked a courtyard area. Would definately stay there again!
