Sala Prabang has a few different buildings. We were a little walk down from the main one but it was still quite lovely. Room was quite spacious and had a balcony overlooking the Mekong River. Bathroom was very nice compared to the other ones we experienced throughout Laos.
There is someone at reception all day to greet you.
They also had free wifi.

Breakfast was in the main building on the first day due to bad weather but the rest of the time it was across the road right above the Mekong with a great view. Breakfast was nice enough, there were freshly made omelets, noodles, fruits, cereal and tea, coffee and juice.
The hotel is also a short walk to the main street of town where the markets are.

If I went back to Luang Prabang I would definitely stay at the Sala Prabang again.

Room Tip: Mekong facing rooms are amazing

Great location and service! The room was comfortable. We had a view of the river. They were accommodating and friendly. Clean and cool. I would definitely return. They provide soap and shampoo. No conditioner or hair dryer. Small closet space. The location is excellent. Close to restaurants and the river. Hop on a slow boat and go see the caves. Fabulous place!!!

Stayed 3 nights as part of a tour. Lovely room, clean and a touch of quaint Laos. Excellent location between the 2 main roads in the centre of the best part of town so you can walk everywhere in town. I absolutely adored Luang Prabang!
I stayed in the building away from the river that overlooked a temple. They had another building close to river. The staff were helpful especially when i had to find the breakfast area which had amazing views of the mekong! Breakfast was okay. Bring your earplugs though. The rooms are not well insulated (?) so i heard a lot of 'throat/nose clearing' from the rooms around me and at 5ish the temple drums got bonged and that could certainly wake a person up.

Room Tip: 2 different buildings close together

I brought my group of 10 people to stay at this hotel. We all loved its great location a block from the palace and night market, but best of all was breakfast by the river each morning. eggs to your liking made by giggly happy ladies eaten amidst the moist morning river fog - very romantic!
The management speak perfect English and were very helpful in arranging tours for our group ahead of time plus transport.
The rooms are plainly furnished but clean and with all amenities. I found the bed hard but on request they gave me a pad which made it just fine.
Highly recommended.

Room Tip: there are 5 villas with rooms in each, all are different

The hotel is nice, but scattered into several neighboring buildings. Ours was in the street behind the property, which was fine... but our room did not have any sort of view, was small and the king bed was essentially 2 single beds smushed together (i.e. uncomfortable to roll into the middle). The room was not really ideal for couples at all because of this and because of the vent hole above the door of the room that basically meant there was no sound barrier between the hallway and the room.

In addition to this, was a bit disappointed that the staff couldn't help us to arrange any tours. When we asked for advice on going to the waterfalls or things to do, we were basically told to just go ask any tuktuk driver in the street. A bit weird to be honest, but maybe we just got unlucky and asked a staff member who had no clue.

The restaurant was on the river with a really great view but at the same time the breakfast was uber boring.. your options are only eggs, grilled toast, fruit, yogurt and rice.

All in all it was not a bad place to stay, looked upscale when compared to the surrounding properties in the neighborhood and the room was cute and clean. The location was also very convenient and walking distance to everything. I just cant say that this place was exceptional, it was an average stay for us this time.

Room Tip: higher floor maybe, try to get a view. Ground floor is meh.
