This is an amazing, beautiful resort. It has much charm and individuality. The suites are beautiful, constructed with nice materials, and furnished and decorated very well. The pool is amazing -- one of the longest pools I have seen at a hotel. The staff are incredibly attentive. I have stayed at 5 star hotels across Asia, and this was by far the most impressive hotel I have ever seen. The breakfast is delicious, with some of the best eggs benedict and pain au chocolate ever! I brought my parents here and they loved it too. We felt incredibly special staying here -- it is a real treat. The decor is colonial, rather than Asian. The touches like the thoughtful turn-down service, the way the towels are folded, the towel service at the pool -- everything was amazing. I had my birthday here and the staff went out of their way to make me feel special.

It is not right in town, but the staff will call a tuk tuk for you or can take you in the hotel van (the more expensive option). It is also possible to walk to town -- if you give yourself enough time. The resort also has bikes, which is fun.

I do not have enough words to rave about this hotel. It is incredible and will make you feel very special.

We looked at several nice hotels in the middle of town, and none came even close to comparing. While Luang Prabang is a lovely town, it has gotten quite touristy, and we were glad to be outside of the tourist center, as it was easy enough to get into town.

A very special outing was to the Elephant Village. There are several companies that conduct elephant rides, and we heard less than stellar reports on some, but the Elephant Village was one of the highlights of our trip. We spend a day at the beautiful location, riding elephants then relaxing at the pool in the most stunning location. It would be easy to spend much more time there -- some of the overnight trips could be very good options. The Elephant Village takes care of elephants that would otherwise not have a home and is run very professionally. Everyone on the trip had wondered if this would be a tourist gimmick, but we were all amazed at what an incredible experience the trip was.

We stayed here for 5 nights in september and it was a wonderful experience. the staff are very friendly and excellently trained. the hotel bar is very comfortable and the cocktails are made to perfection. the hotel is about 5 mins from the town centre and night market. you can hire bicycles at the hotel and its a very pleasant cycle to town, it takes about 15 mins and the roads are quite and safe. The food at this hotel was really good and i would recommend the eggs benedict for breakfast, the hotel speciality. i would recommend staying here.

Room Tip: There is a nice garden feel from the rooms at the rear.

The WOW factor works here.
We took a package which included all meals which were gastronomic events. Get yourself a rear suite in the pioneer area and enjoy the attention and service. This is as good as it gets anywhere in asia.
Take the staff tour recommendations. They are expensive but it's better than mixing with the backpackers on the buses and tuktuks. .

Opened in early 2011 the property is in immaculate condition inside and out. The senior front of house staff are excellent, many having trained in Europe. Some restaurant staff are less comfortable with English, but all willing and friendly. Most guests only stay very few nights. We stayed 9 which gave plenty of time to get to know Luang Prabang and some of the locals. Breakfast menu is good but very limited so can get a bit boring if you have a longer stay.
Worth taking a tuk tuk into town, unless you relish a 25 minute walk in the heat
All in all this is worth a splurge especially if you have been roughing it previously.
The hotel also operates a boat service which can deliver you in 2 days, coming along the Mekong from the Thai border near Chiang Rai. Wonderful start or end to a visit.

Room Tip: Towards the back is better as the bar some distance down the street does a roaring kareoke.

The hotel located outside of city centre of the town but not too far. Just 5-10 mins by car. So if you want something noisy and social, this is not a place. But if you want some relax and retreat, this is the place!!

The hotel was decorated so nice. Just only about 20 rooms make this hotel so quiet and private. The room was also contemporary nice and very big ( since it has only suite ) What I was so impress was service. Every staffs were kind and have service mind. We enjoy the hotel and almost didn't go anywhere. Afternoon tea, pool, breakfast were excellent.

Room Tip: The hotel has only 2 room types, pioneer on 1st floor and explorator on 2nd floor.
