This hotel was very nice, the staff very professional and friendly, the room very comfortable and the food in the restaurant really good.

The bathroom was a nice size and the shower had good pressure and hot water. Wifi was excellent.

Location good too, very close to the huge shopping mall.

This is a very nice hotel in a city that needs at least 40 more years to develop. The neighbourhood is not an area you'd want to go for a stroll, but it's totally safe and totally Asia. Right next to the hotel is the morning market, fruits, veggies and meat are sold there. Staff at this hotel is just wonderful, after arriving 2 days late due to visa and health issues, we were so pleasantly surprised that no charges were made to our creditcard and the booking was simply changed. Thank you Yadanarbon and Booking.com! The rooms are spacious and comfortable. It's very dark inside! The bathroom is efficient. The restaurant is good, fresh food and nice staff. As a bonus they have a marionette show during dinner and live music. The restaurant is an open space area, which is in the hot season (now) not really comfortable for dinner. In the mornings the temp is still okay, so for breakfast it's really okay. Breakfast is really simple, but sufficient. The pool on the roof is great! Comfortable deck chairs, nice drinks and plenty of towels and showers. The pool is highly chlorinated so watch your eyes... Mandalay itself is not too interesting, there are some monasteries and the palace of course, but nothing too impressive especially after Bagan.

I travel to Mandalay for work, and have stayed at this hotel several times. Each time I have a good experience, and just returned from staying here since they've remodeled their dining room and added the rooftop pool

For starters, the staff is wonderful - very friendly and accommodating. They remember me every time I come back, and it feels like family. A couple nights ago, I accidentally spilled a drink right after they delivered it, and without asking they brought me a fresh one.

The rooms are clean and well appointed, although every shower I've used leaks so you end up with a wet floor. The dining room (on the 6th floor, with a great view) is bigger now, the food is good - whether you order Western or Myanmar food. I highly recommend the butterfish curry. Every night there is live music and a puppet . I was sad that they discontinued the free rum sour every evening at sunset time, but they now have a happy hour that offers 40% off. Breakfast is typical for hotels in this price range - eggs to order, toast and croissant station, fresh fruit, and a selection of Asian dishes from mohinga to stir-fried noodles.

The new pool is small, but has an incredible view of the city, and Mandalay Hill in particular. There are only a few lounge chairs, which were usually full when I went up there. There's a bar where you can order food and drinks from downstairs that they'll deliver to you up there.

They've also added a spa, and I booked a 90-minute Thai massage. The spa is a bit of a work-in-progress. When I arrived, there were no clothes to change into (Thai massage is done with clothes on, but you need to move freely). I went back down to my room and changed into yoga clothes. The massage ended up being a mixture of Thai massage, and oil massage. I was quite surprised when she asked me to take my top off, but went with it. At one point she pressed so hard going up and down my spine, I had to ask her to stop - which she didn't really understand - as it was actually painful. She also ended after 60 minutes, and at that point I was fine to stop. The spa is also awkward because you have to walk up 2 floors to the roof pool, then down half a flight of stairs, and then back up and down to the 5th floor restaurant for the foot massage/Thai massage area. Confusing.

Overall, I recommend this hotel and have consistently good experiences staying there.

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room on the 3rd floor.

We had 5 nights here and would highly recommend the hotel. The duty manager Aung Khaing Soe could not do enough to help. It is easy to find and in a great location. The staff are friendly and helpful. The pool is great, the food is excellent.

Room Tip: The 5th floor is besty

Great hotel with an amazing swimming pool. In the hotter months, it’s really refreshing! Good breakfast and even more helpful staff. They helped us arranging bus tickets, other bookings, etc.

Only 1 point: Rooms are a bit small (our room: 406) but still clean and enough for our (two 31yrs flash
packers)
