This hotel is an antique itself. It is a traditional Transylvanian Renaissance building built in 16th century. We were told that many famous people such as Emperor Franz Joseph II, composers Franz Liszt, Johann Strauss and Prince Charles were their guests.
It is located in the old part of Sibiu near the main square and made browsing around the old town incredibly easy.
Yet, as any other antiques, it looks a bit worn out. The room (especially the bedsheet and pillow case) is not clean. The air-con didn't work so we couldn't sleep at night under 30 degree on bedsheet and pillow case with dirt marks. The free wifi didn't work most of the time due to poor signal. We would prefer to visit than live in a historical building.
