It was fascinating to hear about the fountain's history and its water source. Located just inside the City Wall it is a great place that is easily found. Therefore it is an ideal meeting point and resting place while waiting for your family or group to catch up before heading away.

Entering through Pile Gate, this is the first you will see, surrounded no doubt by hawkers and visitors from everywhere you care to mention. The fountain is essentially a circular dome surrounded by a circle of water sprouting heads. It was designed by Italian architect Onforio della Cava primarily so that visitors had somewhere to not only drink, but also to wash of dust and grime before entering the city. These days of course it serves more of a meeting point than anything else.

Entering the old town from Pile gate, coming to Stradun, is the first monument which is always crowded. It is hard to get a seat and rest a little or make photo without tourists.

Grand fountain almost 600 yrs old. Water was brought here from 12km away. Fine view of the main street offered before starting the explorations.

This is situated just outside the old walls. Beautiful and timeless fountain where the locals and tourists gather to meet up. In the summer this is where the tours start from . You can still drink water fro.where. Nice architecture. Went last this attraction on the first day . This is used in games of throne filming as well. Nice meeting point .cafes and resturants all nearby
