Loved the buildings, and the combination of the beige stone and the red roofs.....

The Franciscan Monastery is an excellent example of Catholic architecture (as is the Cathedral of The Blood of Christ in Old Town), but the monastery also has numerous public activities to enjoy--I went to a Christmas fair there and bought a number of locally-crafted food items, as well as cheese from another monastery, which is regionally considered exceptional (and it was)! The monastery is located right across the street from the Sarejvskaya brewery, a local tradiyional, which has a very nice restuarant in a waulted ceiling, which used to be a storage room.

the place houses a active church with Sunday mass. Is a good example of medieval archteture, with trace of many old schools. the rock facade is also very impressive.

We spent around an hour wandering around the pharmacy part of the monastery- the chapel was closed, be careful when you go if that was what attracted you! It was interesting, especially the holes blown in the walls- partner's a war buff- the cloisters were beautiful and quiet, and there was also a display of photo prints. Worth a visit for the cost.

This is a beautiful monastery where you can pray or just relax and enjoy the beauty that surrounds you. On top of that, you can visit a pharmacy museum. Wonderful.
