Beautiful hotel with great sea views and a easily accessible location to old town, room was very spacious breakfast was a bit of a let down, there was hardly any choices especially as a vegetarian which is unusual nowadays and staff seemed disinterested, i put it down to it being the quieter season, nevertheless i really loved the room which came with a kitchen and 2 bathrooms, small living room area and the views which came with this room and would still stay there if visited again!

Whilst not really being a five-star hotel this it does offer spacious sea view suites and its location is fantastic. We loved being able to sit out and enjoy sea views for breakfast, and in general we found the breakfast to be very good, with lots of variety. Its warm food was, however, lukewarm at best. The staff were very friendly but sometimes lack the “go the extra mile” attitude which top hotels normally offer.
Getting into town is easy with the no.6 bus being 10 minutes away and running every 10 minutes, and there are a couple of excellent restaurants 10 minutes walk away at the hotel More. The pool at the Princess is small so we used the other hotels on the complex. On the Rocks, Bono bar and vista restaurant were all used for lunch during our week and were all very good. A great week and would recommend the Royal Princess.

This hotel is slightly away from the new town of Dubrovnik, so please be prepared to have your walking shoes on, catch the bus or order a taxi, that said the views that you gain for it being out of the town are outstanding.

We upgraded to the deluxe suite with balcony and sea view and were very pleased with the standard of accommodation as you enter the suite, you have a bathroom with a shower to your right with a kitchenette/bar area to your left, which is in the open lounge area, complete with sofa, individual chair then sliding doors out onto the balcony with panoramic views over the ocean. You can sit and hear the waves gently lapping against the shore.

As you verge off from the long you enter the bedroom which has a HUGE bed along with the usual bedroom furniture, then leading off to a master bathroom which has 2 sinks, large bath, bidet, wc and a shower over the bath. You are provided with plentiful towels etc, bathrobes, slippers and finished with L'Occitane products.

I would say the only downfall in the rooms is the lack of digital radio or some form of blue tooth speaker or docking station. There is only so much music you can put up with listening on a smart phone. There is radio on the TV but only 2 local stations.

The staff are friendly yet remain professional at all times, the guest relations were fab at hiring a speedboat for the day with just an hours notice.

Breakfast was plentiful, they cater for all types of cuisine requirements, getting filter coffee in a morning sometimes proved a little challenging! Maybe in future leave the coffee on the side for customers to help themselves. The coffee machine made very sweet coffee which is not to everyones taste.

There are 9 pools within the resort, we personally used the one outside the spa at the RP hotel but what was worth the visit was the rooftop adults only pool, to watch the sunset, absolute bliss.

The season was drawing to a close when we stayed so occasionally we would turn up in one of the resort bars to find it closing, I think as a way forward when that is happening perhaps an opening/closing time of bars/restaurants need to be given out or made available.

All in all a very pleasant stay at the Royal Princess hotel

Room Tip: Worth paying the extra for the views

My partner and I stayed for 3 nights at the end of September and were very impressed by the hotel and complex.

I actually booked a room at the Neptun Hotel which is in the resort but we were upgraded to a 2 room sea view suite upon arrival in the RP. The room and view were absolutely stunning and were perfect for our long weekend.

The resort as a whole has a great choice of pools and beach swimming, restaurants look great (we did not eat in them in the end) and breakfast was more than satisfactory. The fact that it is a resort and everything can be walked to off the main road is a plus.

We particularly enjoyed the beach bar right on the sea front down near the Neptun hotel which was a lovely place to enjoy an evening drink while the sun set over the Adriatic.

Ubers to oldtown were cheap (around 80HRK) and the hotel is far enough away to be peaceful and away from the hubbub of the old town.

The staff were also very attentive and polite at all times which is always excellent.

We have a hotel for all our future trips to Dubrovnik, that is no question.

Room Tip: Sea view is a must. Worth the extra for sure.
