I was in town for a conference up in Traverse City. We decided to hold one of our large meetings at this restaurant. There were 16 people in our group. We had to sit between two tables 8 at each one. What I didn’t like was eight people had their backs to one another.

The views were incredible and the refreshments were great. Our food took a long time to come out (close to an hour and a half) and the restaurant was not that crowded. We had things such as chicken quail scallops salads etc. The food was delicious but I am not sure it was worth the price we paid. I felt as if you are paying more for the ambience then you are for the food.

It was 2 1/2 hours from start to finish and no one ordered dessert or coffee. I think time could be reevaluated with their staff and service from the kitchen.

Overpriced Thanksgiving Buffet was the worst we've ever been to and it will be our first and last visit to Aerie. Flavorless, cold, green beans, cold brussels sprouts, dressing that tasted like "Stove Top Dressing," dry turkey breast, very little dark turkey meat, cold bread/rolls, undercooked (raw pie crust dough) cherry pie (NOT Traverse City cherries), overcooked pumpkin pie, over-overcooked (burnt) pecan pie, etc., etc., etc.

We expected a top notch Thanksgiving Buffet and it was far from it.

The only saving grace was the view.

We had dinner on a Saturday night and brunch on Sunday at the Aerie Restaurant while staying at the resort. Our meals were wonderfully prepared and delicious, a chicken dish and a shrimp/scallop dish, and the dessert phenomenal. The service was impeccable and the server, Jenny, a true treasure. The restaurant manager obviously knows how to manage a restaurant, AND he was very personable too. Although we did not have a special occasion to celebrate this visit, I hope to celebrate many special times here in the future.

Top elevation in the area—BEAUTIFUL!! In addition, the food and the service were top notch. Hold down the alcohol consumption and your dinner won’t break the bank.

We had been to the Aerie a few times for their Sunday brunch (very good) but this was our first time for dinner. Thinking that this restaurant is on the top of the only high-rise in NW Michigan (the view is stunning), they didn't have to provide particularly good food. How wrong I was! Plus, watching the sunset over desert was a real treat.
