“Charming inn but could have more personal touch”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 May 2012

The Brass Lantern Inn is a nice and surprisingly large inn located on Nantucket. It is much of what you would think of a Nantucket inn and it was very charming. With all that said, the inn could have had more personal touch. We never saw many staff members. I guess it could have been a bit more welcoming. Also, I did not see many guests most of the time I stayed at the inn - it was pretty quiet most of the time.

The breakfast was simple and adequate. There could have been some other offerings such as possibly boiled eggs, more cereal, quiche, etc but the presentation of dining area and tables was lovely. The presentation made it have the feel of a more substantial breakfast. Our room was old but it had charm with super comfortable sheets. There could have been more space for your things in the bathroom (no space to put anything).

The outdoor space was very nice to have wine outside in the garden and the location was ideal so close to downtown. In conclusion, if just a few thing would change here the Brass Lantern could be the best inn on the island.

Stayed at the inn for two nights for Daffodil Weekend. The location is convenient to town and the ferry. We stayed in the Brant Point room. Nice room on the top floor with two chairs for reading. Be prepared though to climb some steep stairs. Breakfast was cereals, homemade muffins, juice, coffee, and bagels.

Room Tip: The Brant Point room was spacious and on the top floor. It had a view over the rooftops to the harb...

What a wonderful week-end! We went directly to the inn from the ferry to drop off our things. However - as promised- our room just happened to be ready so we were allowed to go directly to our room before we left for bike riding. Michelle and Emily were as helpful as could be! Suggestions for dinner, bike destinations, etc. were so helpful! Breakfast was delicious and healthy! Afternoon tea/coffee and cookies was so appreciated after a day of biking. Our room was soooo comfy. We stayed in the Brant Point Room and loved the view. Bed linens, towels, robes were luxury quality!! ( I loved the robes so much, I even purchased one! Emily and Michelle went out of their way to make sure I was able to take my robe home when I checked out.) I felt so pampered.....will definitely choose this inn for my next trip to Nantucket.

Room Tip: 3rd floor very private, sunny and quiet, but stairway is steep

Our stay at the Brass Lantern Inn on Nantucket was fabulous! We stayed for two nights while on island celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. We were greeted with a warm smile and made to feel comfortable. We stayed in the Brant Point room which had an amazing view of the harbor and of the Brant Point lighthouse. The room was spacious, bright and clean. The bed was very comfortable...we loved the luxury sheets which were soft and cozy. The breakfast room was cheery and with a plentiful supply of tasty bake goods. The staff and the innkeeper were pleasant and engaging. The off street parking was an added bonus, Attention to detail was amazing! We will be back!!

Room Tip: We would suggest staying in the Brant Point room. Great view!
