This beach is never as busy as some other beaches. On some days, the waves are big so if you have little kids, you might consider the part under the kiosk, the western part is way less busy but often rough. We saw whales here in June!

The beach itself is beautiful and a great place to spend an afternoon. The snack shack is good, but it is pretty expensive. Note that adding any extras on wraps/sandwiches will cost you. The bathroom/shower/changing area is great and you can rent chairs and umbrellas as well.

Surfside is our go-to Nantucket beach. It's beautiful (as they all are!), and convenient . . . parking, snack bar, chair and umbrella rentals, changing rooms . . . makes it super easy to enjoy a fabulous beach day!

Well worth to trip out of town. Only 20 minutes to get there. Great for family with children an not crowded. Food and bathrooms are also available. Plenty of parking and only 2 minutes to the beach.

Surfside is our favorite beach on the island (though we usually try and sit a little further down at the entrance to Fisherman's). We love the waves, and the amount of space and can bring our two golden retrievers to play in the water. There are a lot of dogs not on leashes (against the rules I believe), so we have to keep a very close eye on our dogs, but it has a great breeze so they don't get too hot, and the water is a blast.

What a beautiful beach! We took an Uber here from town and headed down the beautiful path to the water’s edge. We brought our own chairs and towels but after a few hours wanted an umbrella. When we tried to rent one at the shack, they were sold out so be sure to bring your own or you risk not being able to get what you need. The sand here was clean and fine and the water was so refreshing with medium size waves. There was quite a bit of seaweed though. We timed lunch right before the rush and ordered the hamburger and lobster roll, which came out quickly and were both very tasty. We also had the blueberry mint lemonade which was so delicious and fresh fruit. We were lucky to get a table and enjoyed our lunch. We noticed the lines for food were very long the rest of the day. Bathrooms were easily accessed and clean. Outdoor showers were available too. One of our favorite beaches.

Excellent beach for families! The water is warm and the waves are minimal so kids can enjoy their time in the water without worrying about currents or waves crashing on them.

Absolutely terrible. You wait a couple of hours for a stone cold crab cake. Deplorable ripoff. They even lock the toilets. Worst place on the island.
