The Historic Inns of Annapolis consists of 3 different properties. We stayed in the Maryland Inn which had all the basics we needed. It is separated from the main hotel where you check in (you have to go to the other side of the Capital, go down an alley to get on Maryland Avenue and the property. Valet parking is limited. We arrived on Friday afternoon and the valet parking was filled. I used the public parking garage across from St. Johns College (about a 10 min walk) which was just fine as the weather was spectacular. Annapolis is really compact, so you have no more than a 10 minute walk from the Maryland Inn to get to all the downtown attractions and the harbor. We plan on going back to Annapolis and will consider booking into this property again.

This inn is comprised of three locations. We were in the Governor Calvert House. It's located on the circle that surrounds the capital. We had an excellent view from our small historic window. The room was old but in good shape.

We did have a potential issue with parking. We arrived late at night and the hotel clerk came outside to show me where to park. The next morning we were coming back from a walk and a police officer was trying to find the owner as our vehicle was parked in a no parking spot.

I moved the vehicle. The office was very nice -- he was not looking to ticket and tow if he didn't need to. I spoke to the manager about why I parked there. He said he would speak to the hotel clerk when she arrived.

During normal times, you probably couldn't park on the circle anyway, but this was COVID-19 times so the streets were relatively empty. Just check carefully about parking.

Great location -- so easy to walk anywhere. We were only there for one night so we explored for a few hours in the morning. The manager encouraged us to check out a little late and keep exploring.

We had a fantastic experience staying at the Governor Calvert House! While the facility was obviously not up to its usual standards due to COVID, we found it to be very welcoming and safe.

Our room was lovely and our balcony looked out on the State House. The room was clean and inviting and would could not be happier. Also, all of our interactions with staff members (from the front desk staff to valet) were positive, warm, and friendly.

We will most definitely be back!

During a quick get away to Annapolis, we stayed at the Robert Johnson House. It was wonderful inn. Very clean, comfortable, and full of modern amenities. If you enjoy waking through history, this is the place to stay. Out our windows you could see the Maryland State House and the Annapolis Harbor. I’d definitely stay here again.
