We like to try new places, and new tastes, so we went here and I ordered the Redneck Tacos. I got one with pulled pork and one with brisket, so I could sample both meats. The tacos, and both meats, were good, and would have been even better if the meats had less fat. The macaroni and cheese was also good. The beer available was decent, and the chips were homemade. I think the food (and decor) here is better than Red Hot and Blue. It was on the noisy side, but it was a Saturday night. I can't comment on the complementary fried cornbread and honey butter as we were not served any.

We live in the neighborhood and really want this place to work. Bar and seating areas are spacious. Interior furnishing and fixtures are nice. Staff is friendly. Menu is good. Wish the rest was better. Free cornbread was dry and over fried (honey butter was good). Shrimp, corn, sweet potato soup had great flavor but was barely warm. Far from hot. Mashed potatoes were luke warm, but they did have good taste. Overall, all of our food should have been hotter, temperature wise. Ribs were just OK. They should have built an entry vestibule area. Each time the door opened it was cold and we were seated far across the room by the kitchen. By far, the worst aspect for me, the floors. From the entry to the bathroom, on the elevated wood seating area and the stained concrete, ALL of the flooring was covered in grease. It was slippery to walk on. Gross. They must be cleaning their kitchen floor with the same mop as they use in the dining areas. The servers must be dragging the grease from the kitchen. It was horrible. The people at the table beside us had to keep pulling their table up to them, it was sliding across the floor. It is dangerous and makes a terrible first impression. We mentioned it to the hostess but she gave us a look like we were crazy? It'll give it a couple months and go back. Hopefully the floors will be clean and the food will be hot.

Annapolis Smokehouse just opened this past Wednesday. We had an early dinner there tonight and managed to catch their fantastic happy hour. Where to start? The beer and wine list is great (good selection of draught and bottled beer and wines by the glass and bottle). We started with complementary fried cornbread and honey butter (yummy!) and we ordered a pulled pork sandwich and a salad with pulled pork for dinner. The pork is amazing! The meat is tender, chunky, and very flavorful; it's definitely pulled by hand. The salad greens and vegetables were fresh and the roll for the sandwich was lightly toasted---perfection. The sandwich came with homemade chips that were warm, crisp, and well salted. They make all their sauces in house! The KC barbecue sauce was tangy; the Carolina mustard sauce was out of this world. Service was very prompt and friendly. Several staff people stopped by just to make sure we were doing OK. The dining room is large---there are plenty of tables and the bar is plenty big. The noise was energetic but not too loud. We'll definitely go back. They have take-out too.
